dharhe and power DP via 50Amp P050A cable? A Port??

Live in USA- PNW - Looking to buy Apex 300 for home backup and trying to understand options to connect Apex 300 to my 240 VAC Distribution panel (DP) and a generator at the same time. Will be installing a Generator disconnect setup which will be wired from DP 50AAmp generator breaker to an outside 50AMP Gen Inlet.
Trying to determine how do you connect Apex 50amp PO50A port and charging cable to the DP Gen breaker inlet.

  1. Can just add a 50Amp Receptacle for the Apex 300 to the line from the DP to the outside generator inlet?
  2. Would I need a disconnect in both the DP gen inlet plug and the Apex 300 gen output receptacle to prevent arcing if someone were to either plug or unplug the generator or Apex 30 plug in the system in being powered?

Hello, please send us a schematic diagram of the distribution panel and disconnect device for our reference.
The safest method is to connect a sub-distribution panel with a transfer switch, as this will prevent any safety risks when switching between the grid and the APEX300 output.
If a transfer switch is not used, I can suggest the following connection method, as shown in the diagram. However, please note that the output of the APEX300 cannot be connected to the grid. If the customer improperly operates the system and both circuit breakers close simultaneously, there will be a safety risk.

  1. When supplying power to the load through the grid and charging the APEX300, close Circuit Breaker 1 and open Circuit Breaker 2.
  2. When needing to supply power to the load through the APEX300, open Circuit Breaker 1 and close Circuit Breaker 2.
The following two documents are examples of connecting to the home grid through a transfer switch.
Additionally, please note that when using the APEX300 alone, the P050A is only for charging. The customer can only connect to the generator inlet via the L14-50 output.
