DesignTheNextBLUETTI: The Ultimate UPS

Thanks to @Selfmadestrom for the reminder that I need to create my own topic for this.

I would like to see an ultimate UPS solution for use with PC, server, home electronics, audio/studio equipment, medical equipment and power protection that replaces the traditional UPS and a traditional diesel generator combination. Awesome features would be:

Must have:

  • LiFePO4 battery chemistry
  • True Sine-wave inverter.
  • Lightning fast switching time
  • Modular, easily serviceable with user replaceable battery
  • Line-interactive UPS. Battery goes standby if it is 100% charged and is only used during power cuts.
  • All internal electronics can run of AC power to eliminate the continuous charging/discharging cycles that occur now with Bluetti devices in UPS mode.
  • USB connection to connect PC or server and gracefully shut it down when battery is low. Requires Bluetti PC software or compatibility with Windows UPS service.
  • Solid surge protector that is modular and replaceable. So if a power surge has happened and the surge protector did it’s work but is damaged, only the surge protection can be replaced without having to replace the entire UPS.
  • Power conditioner to mitigate small power problems like a low or high utility power voltage without having to switch to battery.
  • Silent in stand-by for in bed rooms, music studios etc. It may make some fan noise but only when there is a power outage and the unit is running off its battery and when the power is back and the unit is recharging its battery. When the battery is recharged it should be completely silent again.
  • Very low standby power usage
  • Quality electronics and firmware

Nice to have:

  • Ability to use multiple external battery packs for extended runtime.
  • On-site support and repair
  • Tower model that can be rack mounted
  • 2200VA+ / 1500+ watt for high end gaming PC support.

Does not need:

  • Solar charging capabilities. This is not a solar power station.
  • Wireless charging pads.
  • To be portable. You don’t take this to a camping trip. It is still a good idea to make the battery and the UPS separate units to limit weight.
  • Severe weather proofing and built in battery heater. You use this in home or in business. Indoors and protected from the elements.
