There isn’t much information in the D300S manual about the physical mounting of the unit but I’d like to avoid mounting it directly on the wall using the screw holes, because:
[1] It is relatively heavy at 7kg (and I have two) and my wall might not support it/them;
[2] More importantly, I understand it can get very hot at the back so I’d feel uncomfortable mounting it facing wallpaper;
[3] Also, all my PV cables are coming in from above.
Is there any downside to placing it on its top, upside down, on a shelf (still vertically of course, so the convective cooling is not compromised)?
