Charging AC200Max directly from a gas generator via EG4 Chargeverter

I already have a Firman tri-fuel generator and have been looking for a solution to charge my AC200MAX directly from the generator during power outages. I came across a YouTube video where someone demonstrated how to charge an Anker SOLIX F3800 directly from a gas generator via the EG4 Chargeverter. For those unfamiliar with the EG4, it essentially converts modified sine waves to pure sine waves. I believe I can use the aviation charging cable to connect the EG4 with a slight modification, allowing me to charge the AC200MAX at a maximum of 900W. My question is whether the AC200MAX is smart enough to accept only 900W, even though the EG4’s maximum output is 3000W at 120V, or if I have to change the power output settings on the EG4 to mimic 15A/145V.

The aviation port on the AC200MAX is for DC only, not AC wether sine or modifed wave.
The AC200MAX uses a external power supply to charge from AC and I’m not sure how well it works with modified sine wave, though the risk is only the external unit and shouldn’t effect the AC200MAX itself. This is limited to 400-500 watts.
There are a number of AC to DC converters around (plenty of cheapish ones on amazon), you might be able to find a option that gets close to the 900 watts the aviation plug can take, just need to make sure the output DC voltage is in range.

Thank you for your input! I have an AC to DC converter and that’s been tested to charge my AC200max via the aviation plug. The setup just simulates the solar charging. However, this can’t be done when the power grid is off. And, I was told by Bluetti support that charging with modified sine could damage AC200max.

Good to know Bluetti support mentions not to use modified sine wave. Thanks.
So the AC to DC converter you have doesn’t work with modifed sine wave either?

It works when I back feed power to the house from the generator. But, I don’t want to damage my ac200max.

Even without considering frequency and non-pure sine wave situations, the AC200MAX can accept a maximum of 500W AC input, and gas generators also fall under AC input.

Thanks for your input. I am aware that gas generators fall under AC input. The question is if modified sine wave will damage AC200max or not…

It is not recommended to charge the BLUETTI machine with a non-pure sine wave generator.
