Charger 2 Question

I have a Charger 2 that I havent yet installed in my truck. For short term can I just hook it up to a 12V lead acid battery I have and use that to charge my AC180?
To be 100% clear, this lead acid battery is a battery that was connected to solar in my RV for it’s 12v systems. 12V 81Ah, I replaced it with a LiFePO battery.
I would like to keep the lead battery topped off in my garage, hook up the Charger 2 to it directly, then plug in my AC 180 into the charger 2 and recharge it’s battery
Is there enough power in that battery? Do I have to have an alternator somewhere in that system?
Thanks in advance

Yes you can use Charger 2 to recharge both your 12V lead acid and AC180. The Charger 2 is bidirectional you can use it to top off your 12V lead acid house battery and your Bluetti AC180. Bluetti AC180 routes through CHG (charge) port, 12V lead acid to the BAT port. You supply power either through solar OR an alternator, in this case you’d likely use solar. The CHG port is unidirectional while the BAT port is bidirectional. BAT is used for starter battery or expansion (house) batteries, while CHG is for power stations directly. I don’t own a Charger 2 but I believe the CHG port is just MC4?

Thanks for the info. That’s kind of what I figured. However I wanteed to just hook up the 12V lead battery to the Charger 2 and use that to charge the AC 180 only. I didn’t want to hook up solar and didn’t want to charge the Lead battery.
The lead battery is just setting in my garage and I thought I could use it to charge the AC180. No biggie I guess…
And yes, the Charger 2 uses MC4 connections. Both for the PV input and the Power station output.

You can do that but keep in mind the limitation of 12V battery, it will charge very slowly at 12V. The Charger 2 will likely just shut off and enter battery protection mode when the voltage of lead acid dips below a certain threshold like say 12.0V volts. You would still need to find a way to top back off your lead acid battery eventually.

Thank you, Thats what I figured. And I did a test hook up and thats what looks like what happened. 0 charge and the Charger 2 power light was just blinking.
Just needed some sanity check. Looks like I have a real nice looking lead acid paper weight…

Lead-acid batteries should never be deeply discharged OR kept in a low voltage state for a long time as it causes sulphation and is irreversible when it does. Its why Lifepo4 batteries are more common as house batteries in builds.
