Okay, I have a 2009 Ford F-350 super duty with two batteries because it’s a diesel, and my question is which battery do I use? I’ve search the heck of this question and can’t find anything and I don’t think I’m the first one with this question but here I am. Thanks in advance.
Hi @insparks
Are theese both starter batterys or only one of them? Some vechicles have a battery for keeping the vehicle “running” and a battery for extra applicances.
In this case, only on e of the batterys will be directly charged from a engine alternator and the second battery get charged from the first one.
Atleast for the european vehicles i see in this configuration. In short, find the battery, thats directly connected with the vehicles alternator.

It’s not for extra appliances, it’s for the 6.8-liter diesel engine cranking. And I hate to tell you it has two alternators also.
My truck is a 2009 Ford F-350 Super Duty has a Powerstroke 6.4L V8 Diesel with two batteries and two alternators, I’m sorry I didn’t say that before.
Hi @insparks
in that case, it doenst really matter where you connect the charger 1. The Charger 1 support 12V and 24V systems. So it also doenst matter if both battery are independent, in series or paralell connected (As long its not any special voltage battery).
