Hi all, I took advantage of the upgrade promo from Charger1 to Charger2. My understanding was I could simply use the Charger 1 dc to dc cable (battery to charger), hence the lower price as the Charger 2 came without the DC to DC cable. A selling point of the Charger 2 is that the dc cable doesn’t have the janky breaker. I can find nothing, however, on how to remove the breaker to complete the upgrade install. And I can’t find the correct cable on Bluetti’s website. Anyone else facing this or suggestions how to make it work?
The breaker has screw terminals, loosen the one that goes to the start battery and remove the cable. The end of this cable is the same as the cable end that goes to the Charger 1 positive input. Providing you have enough cable length, it should then fit the Charger 2.
However, you will need to fuse the cable at the start battery (something that should have been done anyway). If you installed a 60A fuse for the Charger 1, it will need to be upgraded to a 75A fuse at the start battery. The max current draw from the start battery will be 800W divided by 12.8V = 62.5A, however, depending on other vehicle loads, check your alternator can handle this load.
Actual load will depend on your size of power station, i.e. my highest PS input would be the Elite 100 V2, but the one I use the Charger 1 with is the AC70 with a 500W max input or 39A from the start battery. So if you are only charging something from the alternator at 600W or less, the 60A cctbrkr or fuse will be safe to use. Any added solar input does not pass through this cable and will not affect total load on it.
