Hello All! I installed a Charger 1 in by Sprinter van a few months ago. Thing has been running great until recently. Suddenly the van would be on but no charging happening, The vehicle battery would show as 14.7, the output voltage would show as 56 but there was no wattage being drawn. Then this week I noticed that I couldn’t connect to the Charger 1, turns out the breaker had flipped. So I flipped it back and things were great for about 15 - 20 minutes. Charge going through and no issues. Then it flipped again.
I have it plugged into an AC200Max, the Charger 1 is connected using the cable purchased from Bluetti with no alterations. The van is a simple cargo van with nothing fancy drawing from the battery other than the Charger 1 . @BLUETTI_CARE any suggestions here?
Hi @volksman, We would like to gather more information to further troubleshoot the issue.
- Have you registered and binded your Bluetti app? Please ensure that both the firmware for Charger 1 and the AC200MAX are updated to the latest versions.
- In the advanced settings of Charger 1’s app, disable the “Adaptive Mode” and test again. Does this resolve the issue?
- Ensure that the AC200MAX’s DC input source is set to “Others.”
- When the breaker trips, does Charger 1 display any error codes? If so, please share the specific error code with us.
- Try disconnecting the AC200MAX from Charger 1 and test whether the AC200MAX can charge normally via car charging or battery charging.
- Lastly, we’d like to know what loads are connected to the AC200MAX, is the output of the AC200MAX grounded? Does the issue persist when the AC200MAX has no load connected?
Let us know the results of these tests for further assistance!
1 yes
2 makes no difference it seems
3 Confirmed
4 no error in app just unreachable
5 AC200 is charging normally from grid and solar
6 DC fridge and a few lights. Will test if it persists without the load today. Didn’t notice that request until now.
So I flipped the breaker to the on position on the Charger 1 while the vehicle was off and the Charger 1 turned on and started Charging. It continues to charge while the vehicle is off. Is that supposed to happen?
Hi @volksman, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
We believe this is a normal occurrence, and everything seems to be functioning properly.
Charging will only continue when the voltage is high. If you want to prevent charging after the vehicle is off, you can disconnect the circuit breaker.
By the way, please note that if you need my assistance, please @BLUETTI_CARE, otherwise, I might not see your message and be able to help you promptly.
That is the reason why we can’t reply to you in time.
@BLUETTI_CARE why would the breaker keep flipping then? The load is pretty constant and the breaker breaking seems very random. Worked for hours and several charges then on a shorter trip it flipped. There doesn’t seem to be any conditions that can reproduce the problem other than colder temps outside but I keep the inside of the vehicle at 12 C or higher at all times.
Thoughts?
Hi @volksman, This doesn’t seem quite normal.
We are concerned that there may have been a wiring error, where the negative terminal of the DC output load was connected to the vehicle’s negative terminal.
Could you please confirm this? It would be best if you could provide a photo or video so we can see how it is connected.
