Can the AC200L settings be changed without internet connection?
I 'm coming from the AC200Max, who’s settings can easily be changed offline via the screen. I’m considering getting an AC200L, but read somewhere that a user needs to be logged into their account AND also be connected to the internet.
Can anyone confirm if this is accurate or not accurate?
@jCs
Are you referring to this? When connecting via Bluetooth directly (visitor mode), the device cannot be controlled, and the settings page cannot be accessed.
The APP department has implemented a solution: it will be changed to default to visitor mode being enabled. After registering an account and binding the device, the visitor mode can be set to off. It is scheduled to be released on December 18th.
“Are you referring to this? When connecting via Bluetooth directly (visitor mode), the device cannot be controlled, and the settings page cannot be accessed.”
Yes, exactly.
“The APP department has implemented a solution: it will be changed to default to visitor mode being enabled. After registering an account and binding the device, the visitor mode can be set to off. It is scheduled to be released on December 18th.”
Just to make sure I understand: do you mean that after the app update in December 18 or so, I can change 200L settings when connected via bluetooth, and without an internet connection for the controlling device?
Also, I realize prediction is hard and this might be an unfair question…but since after the 200Max when touchscreens were dropped, us users lost the certainty of being able to always control settings without being at the mercy of Bluetti’s app So i’m curious: is there any significant chance that Bluetti will change the app back later so that the internet connection is once again a requirement for settings change?
I’m asking, because in case of a power outage, there is no internet – and it seems odd to not allow changing settings in one of the exact situations that these devices are designed to be used in (power outages)
“we have always supported connecting devices without an internet connection.”
Understood – but do you support changing settings? I thought you were saying that you don’t support it yet: " When connecting via Bluetooth directly (visitor mode), the device cannot be controlled, and the settings page cannot be accessed." ?

Just to ask explicitly to make sure I understand: can the 200L settings be changed without internet access, via Bluetooth connection?
Or, what am I misunderstanding from what you mentioned earlier?
I have both a AC200MAX and a AC200L. Unless something has changed, you can get to the AC200L by bluetooth, even when it’s normally set to interent. You can also through the settings change it to connect by default by bluetooth from the app.
From the app, once you are on the my devices page, the AC200L square will have in the top right a small circle with three dots, tap that and you can select to connect with bluetooth.
I don’t remember where exactly it is (currently don’t have access to it), but you can change the AC200L to always connect with bluetooth from the app. I think once you are connected to it, hit the gear for settings on the top right, and one of the options lets you always connect with bluetooth.
I haven’t seen any real difference in what you can do when connected by internet or bluetooth. I do believe the stats pages require internet, but that’s independent of connecting from the app.
Thanks. So just to check since you mentioned you could “connect to it”, are you able to change all settings as well?
Or by this statement “I haven’t seen any real difference in what you can do when connected by internet or bluetooth”, do you mean that everything can be controlled already via Bluetooth?
I ask because if it can, then I’m confused by @BLUETTI 's reply about the app update being needed for that.
I just looked at both, and the only difference I saw was that to upgrade the AC200L, you need to use bluetooth. Everything else seems to be the same.
Also note that for me, bluetooth is always more responsive and up to date. At times, there is a little bit of lag when using the internet. I pretty much always use bluetooth and have it set as the default connection method.
You will notice that the AC200L is the only device with a circle and three dots in the upper right hand corner. When you select that, you have a number of options with the top two being “Cloud” (internet) and “Bluetooth”.
Here are images of the settings pages for both bluetooth and internet. The only thing I noticed was that the bluetooh shows “Upgrade” while the internet shows “Version”.
You can also set the default connection mode of cloud or bluetooth and I’ve selected bluetooth.
