For Christmas I celebrate the festivities several times at different houses. This means that for most of Christmas the only meal I have to cook is breakfast. After all, mince pies count as a healthy ready-made lunch, right?
Here is my AC50B helping the 300/600w toaster oven warm my festive, breakfast croissants.
With regular energy price rises in the UK I’ve been making the most of my Bluettis to store cheaper rate electricity for use at more expensive times. Combined with changing to energy saving appliances I am saving on my energy bill without any major sacrifices.
As I live just minutes away from 4 supermarkets, I don’t need a huge fridge-freezer. This under-counter one is great for one person and uses little energy. Powered by my AC70 it can run it for at least 30 hours on one charge.
I also invested in several smaller energy saving devices that I can run with my Bluettis. In the photo are a 600w hotpot / steamer, a usb rechargeable mini blender, and a 300w one cup kettle. My AC50B can easily run the hotpot and the kettle is no problem for the EB3A.
I also have a 100w mini slow cooker and a 400w Remoska oven. The Remoska was invented in Eastern Europe in times when electricity needed to be conserved. It’s very efficient. I’ve cooked a mini roast in this with all the trimmings using an EB70. It’s great for all the things the toaster oven is a little bit too small for.
The photo shows my AC180P powering the Remoska. The AC180P is also my go to device for powering another energy saving appliance – the microwave. Although it draws nearly 1400w the fast cooking times make it very efficient and the AC180P handles it no problem
Sometimes it does seem like older ways had a lot going for them energy wise, especially when combined with Bluetti ‘s up to date technology. This spin dryer is rated at just 300w. A cycle lasts 5 minutes, uses about 25w and halves drying times.
In the lounge my laptop is the biggest energy hog. I was having to inefficiently AC charge it as it has no USBc input. But now I have an X20 to top it up via the 20V port. The X20 can be more efficiently DC charged via its bidirectional USBc, so that’s a big win for me.
Another area I have been trying to save energy in is the lounge lighting. Last year I was lucky to win a Bluetti gift set. It included a brilliant USB rechargeable camping light. It has several settings, including a warm light hue that is perfect for relaxing in the evenings. I find I use this light a lot as I like the tone of the light it gives off so much.
My latest addition to more energy efficient lighting is the USB rechargeable table lamp I got for Christmas. It takes hardly anything to charge up and lasts for 5-6 hours. With no AC cord to get in the way it’s also really easy to move it exactly where it is needed.
Thanks to my Bluetti batteries I am able to store electricity when it is available at a cheaper rate, and with the help of these energy saving appliances the stored energy lasts that bit longer. It has not been difficult to save 1/3 from my bill.
So here’s to 2025, wishing everyone a very Happy New Year, filled with energy savings, energy independence and the security of knowing that come what may, that Bluetti backup is always there.
