BLUETTI EB3A DC SHORT error

Hi all.
I bought a BLUETTI EB3A from a local pawn shop. The AC inverter works fine, but in DC mode it shows a DC short error. Someone on youtube fixed the problem with the firmware update sent by Bluetty support. My unit is registered with the previous owner’s email, so I can’t get any updates. Is there a way to unregister my device and register it in my name?

Hi @val, we would like to help you.
Please contact us via message, and provide the EB3A’s SN code, then we will disconnect with the original account, and then upgrade the firmware.

@BLUETTI_CARE

Hi @val, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
Now we have disconnected the EB3A from the original account.
You can register and log into your own account now.

Hi @val, We still haven’t gotten your answer, we wonder if this problem is resolved.
Please feel free to contact our service team for warranty service.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE ,
thanks for your help guys. Unfortunately, it didn’t solve my problem. I was able to registered it to my name, but according to app info, it’s up to date, most recent software already installed. ARM 2057.11 DSP 2056.10
What should i do?
Thanks

Hi @val, Can you tell us is there any error code on the EB3A?
You can long press the AC and LED power buttons simultaneously when overload, then you can find the specific error code.
We have already applied to push a new firmware for you.
Our IT department will push the latest version of firmware to your machine in 1 working day. Please upgrade it tomorrow.
Please do not load any device when upgrading it.
Please let us know if it works.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE
error is 2-10

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE
I did the both updates and it doesn’t help. Still the same error.
And now it’s draw 4 watts with no any connections for a 3-4 seconds and then dropped to error 2-10

Hi @val, Thank you for getting back to us so quickly.
If the error occurs even with no load connected, it seems that the unit may require repair.
Could you please let us know your location, and we will look up the appropriate service email address to assist with the repair?

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE
Sorry for late reply, had some internet issues here.
I live in Canada, Nova Scotia province.

Hello - my unit just isn’t working. I bought it brand new, and had an issue with “input” flashing when I try to use my 80w solar panel. Then I downloaded the app to try to upgrade firmware as suggested, held the AC/DC buttons to connect bluetooth, and now the screen is just flashing 4 repeating lines over and over. Can’t turn the unit off, can’t power anything to drain the battery. Please, please help me.

Hi FixMyMachine. Mine did this when I first got it. It was way out of calibration so an update failed as it didn’t have enough power to finish the whole update (even though the screen said it did). I got the same lines on the screen you mentioned and none of the buttons worked. I managed to get it to start charging by 12v, then changing to AC to finish recharging it. I always do a full recalibration on any new battery prior to updating due to this experience. Do you have a lead to 12v charge it from the cigarette port on a car or another power station?

It was at 85% battery and don’t have a car charger. I’m not very happy with this product right now and might just get a refund.

The12v charger leads can be bought online quite easily, from Bluetti or elsewhere. I’d recommend having one. Needing to recalibrate applies to all brands with the LifePo4 battery chemistry. Although it said 85% the screen reading wouldn’t have been accurate without having done this. I understand your frustration, I thought I’d killed my brand new EB3A at the time and was quite upset. It is hopefully quite an easy fix though that could save you the hassle of a return and get you enjoying your new battery.

Sigh such a headache and none of this is explained. Still haven’t heard from support. I don’t understand much about currents, watts, volts, etc… Would this do what I need it to do? I don’t have a car.

its this type, it goes from the car cigarette lighter to the solar input on the EB3A:

I don’t have a car or another battery to plus this into.
