Bluetti Charger 2

Just ‘upgraded’ from Bluetti Charger 1 to the new Charger 2 and have a significant gripe or potential ‘out of the box’ problem/fault.

Using a standard alternator wired to the Charger 1 and an AC180 power pack, it shows the supply (alternator) voltage in the app. Very useful for knowing how your vehicle supply is performing and clearly identifying the battery voltage cut off point so you have confidence that the charger is not draining the vehicle battery.

Enter the new Charger 2 and the vehicle supply shows 0% and no voltage readings despite it charging the AC180 as it should.

So, in short, it works as it should charging the power pack but this key information about the vehicle battery status is missing.

Firmware checked on both units and app up to date.

I am setting up and using a Charger 2 for the very first time. It recently replaced a Bluetti Charger 1, which worked flawlessly.

I see the same issue as what you’ve described- the Bluetti app is showing a battery symbol for the Charger 2 as 0% in a red font.

Yet the Charger 2 appears to be charging my Elite 300, however initially it was sporadically charging and stopping.

Within the event log history of the Charger 2, I can see a number of G020 errors Charger Output Short Circuit and also a couple of S017 errors - Bus undervoltage.

I have updated the ARM firmware to the latest version v30041.01.17, and the IOT firmware is also updated, now at v8036.11

The battery is an Elite 300 and it is also updated to the latest available firmware as follows:
ARM v10003.01.13
DSP v10004.01.10
BMS v10006.01.09

Not sure what’s going on, since the power cable to the unit from the vehicle’s battery is the Bluetti supplied cable, a rather heavy and thick cable, and all the connections are quite tightly done up, so there is no likelihood of a poor physical connection.

If you do find a solution for your issue, please do share how you remediated the issue.

I watched a few YouTube reviewer videos on the Charger 2 and their Bluetti app was also showing 0%.

I am GUESSING that if an auxillary battery pack was connected to the Charger 2, that’s when the battery gauge will actually become meaningful.

An example of an auxillary battery pack for the Charger 2 would be a Bkuetti B300K. With a B300K it is possible to jump start the vehicle by reverse charging.

No answers yet and disappointingly, nothing from the Bluetti team either :frowning:

I’m on a 2 month road trip shortly so will see how it goes but I’ll be taking my Bluetti Charger 1 with me as back up should the need arise.

@BLUETTI
When looking at the charger 2 in the Bluetti app. Why does the car battery icon show zero percent even though it is charged fully? How would the charger 2 know the exact percentage of the car battery? Can we update the app to show how much it is reverse charging the car battery, live in the app home screen?
