I have just received a B80 expansion battery. I press and hold the power button for a few seconds. It flashes green once then switches off. Am I doing something wrong. I am trying to get it into powerbank mode
Hi @DAG64
welcome to the bluetti community forum!
I dont own a B80, but to put the B300 into Powerbank mode, i need to hold the power button for a few seconds, until the button is blinking permanently.
Did you connect the unit while try this? Or isnt anything connected to the B80 when you try?
When i remember it correctly, i set my input on the Bluetti Powerstation on “other”, set the cables between both units and put the B300 in powerbank mode after this.
greetings
Erik
Hi, hopefully, I can add something that may help.
You need to have one of the aviation style cables connected to the output port of the B80 before pressing and holding the power button for around 5 seconds to put it in power bank mode.
If you do have a cable connected and it still won’t enter power bank mode, the unit is faulty and needs to be replaced.
I received 5 B80s, and one had this issue, which I understand is a firmware issue, but with me not owning an AC60, I was unable to do a firmware upgrade.
totally agree with DJR.
You must have the cable below and plug it into the B80 to be able to activate powerbank mode, otherwise it does not work.
Battery Connection Cable (bluettipower.com)
The reason is simple. If you look at the connector on your B80, you will see that there are 8 small pins. In the cable above, some pins are connected together (a sort of unlocking code). The B80, when you are pressing and holding the power button and when it recognizes the correct combination on the cable, then agrees to activate the powerbank mode.
The B80 is fully charged. I connect the Aviation Cable to the unit. Press and hold the power button. It flashes once then switches off
If you did as in the video above and it doesn’t work, I fear there is a problem… You need to call BLUETTI_CARE.
As I mentioned previous it is more than likely the wrong firmware and if you don’t have an AC60 to connect it to then it will need to be returned and replaced with one that has the updated firmware.
