Bizarre behavior

AC500 and 6 B300s.
This has happened 4 times now, and I can’t explain it.

I have a window A/C next to my AC500 and batteries. Four times now when I leaned in to adjust the A/C air vent, I touched the front right corner of one of the batteries and the whole system when down. The green light was blinking and there’s no power from it’s AC outlets. Each time I then have to unplug all my panels and wall outlet to turn the AC500 off and back on, (it won’t let you turn it off if there’s power coming in.)
.

It just doesn’t make any sense. The battery case is not metal so I can’t imagine a static charge from me did this, plus I didn’t feel any kind of spark. I didn’t put a whole lot of pressure on the corner of the case; it was more for keeping my balance ( have to lean in over the battery stack and some boxes.)
.

The first few times I had to think it was just a fluke, but now, after 4 times, I don’t know what to think. Can the battery case get a static charge from me (without me feeling it), and cause the whole system to go down?
.

UPDATE: And it just happened again. I touched the corner of the battery case while I was plugging my solar panels back in.

I am surprised that touching the case would do anything. How hard are you touching it? If you touch it super lightly, does it do anything?

Can you check that your battery cables are inserted really well and locked? I have AC300 connected to 2xB300 and have seen it totally shut down when I bumped into it because the battery cables are not locked and got disconnected. They have to be connected really well.

Hi @St8kout, We have never received such feedback before. This does not seem to be related to static electricity.
Thanks to @snowstorm for the analysis; we believe this might be caused by a relatively heavy impact leading to poor contact.
Please ensure that the cable is plugged in tightly and locked, and avoid any impacts.

Yeah, the cables were the first thing I checked, including the “lock” switch.
Like I said, I can’t imagine what would cause this, and it happened three times now.

When it happens, all the green lights are on but there’s no power output; all my ups units start beeping when there’s no power. The APP and touchscreen are unresponsive. And of course I could not power down the AC500 until I could unplug the wall outlet and solar panels.

Hi @St8kout, Thank you for your update. This type of issue is indeed very rare. Could you please record a video, upload it to Google Drive or another cloud service, and share the link with us? We’d like to reproduce the problem.

When you mentioned the error, could you specify the exact error code?

As for not being able to power off while connected to a power source, that is normal. The purpose of the power station is to store energy, and once it’s connected to a power source, it will automatically activate and begin charging.

That’s another thing. The touchscreen stopped working so I could not see if there was an error code, and after doing the reboot there was no error shown on the touchscreen.

It hasn’t happened since, but the three times have been random.
