(Apologies if this question has been covered) Has anyone installed a two-wire remote or an automatic generator start module to charge the AC300 when the battery is low?
Context: I built a small off-grid cabin to rent out on AirBnB. I’ve decided to go with the AC300 + B300 to power the cabin. I’m using a 4500W remote start inverter generator to charge the battery bank as needed. Right now, a guest has to use the remote to turn on the generator. I’d like to remove this responsibility from the guest by using an auto starter that activates when the batter needs juice. Has this been done with an AC300 and portable inverter generator?
You will need a signal from the AC300 that is send when SOC reaches a certain level. The AC300 has a PV priority mode where it would only pull from the grid AC input if the SOC falls below a set point. But it requires a connected grid that is already on to function. Maybe someone will know whether there is an API or signal that is sent to know the SOC. I know the app displays it, so the info is there, but is not public.
Interested to know if you managed to get an answer or more information regarding capability for automated generator charging? We are looking to use an EP760 system in an off grid scenario and would need capability for automated two wire generator to be triggered when SOC reaches a low level.
