Apex300 Solar stops charging,then re-starts charging

@BLUETTI_CARE …Hi, I emailed 2 days ago, no response, yet. Unit charging from third party Solar panels normally, it’s full Sun, then stops, shows zero Solar input for 20-40 minutes, starts charging from AC and then starts charging again from Solar……Software updated, setup to PV and high current , no error codes…does anyone has experienced this ?

Hi @JJDD, Could you please provide your service ticket number?
This issue can be resolved by updating the firmware.
Simply share your Apex 300’s SN code and current firmware version, and we’ll applied it for you.

Hello. Not sure if this is in any way related to your issue but I have some odd behavior on the Bluetti AC500 that sounds like it could be related to the issue you are experiencing with the Apex 300. Whenever I have had the solar panels hooked up to the Bluetti AC500 (variety of different panels including Bluetti and third party), I noticed that the reading of the PV input from the panel would suddenly go from reading an accurate input (ex. 330 watts) to showing 0 watts (same conditions - full sun and no clouds) and would stay there for two seconds or so before rebounding to the wattage it showed before. At first I thought it might be a loose connection somewhere between the panel and the AC500 but everything was confirmed to be secure. Then I realized that it was doing this on a pretty regular basis (timing varies every session) so the pattern lead me to believe it might have been a firmware issue. I have seen it happen in every charging session (using both the the DC1 leads and the DC2 leads). I upgraded the firmware with no resolution. It is worth noting that Bluetti seemed to be very helpful and had me actually send them my unit for them to look at but they told me they were not able to reproduce the issue. At my request, I got it shipped back to me so I am still experiencing the problem with both a B300 and a B300S battery. Just thought I would compare notes in case this was a related issue. Thanks.

Yes, similar issue, don’t know how long or how many times it happens, @BLUETTI_CARE told me they’re working on it thru the firmware , they told me to change the Working mode to “ Self-Consumption “ mode, so the battery doesn’t stay 100% charge at all times, but still does . This is my second unit, spent thousands on top Solar panels, installation and its problems and problems. Mostly wanted this as an UPS and in case of outage use, but it’s always something going on. It’s clear they don’t know whats going on , having so many issues and little answers. One time the ac button shut off and power stuff so my wifi, alarm , went out and I was on vacation. Wife mad why spend the money and so many problems

Ticket 359396 ….your tech had been doing troubleshooting, so they say now Solar stops being absorbed because battery is 100%, yet many times it doesn’t stop nor from the grid at 100%. So now I would had to watch ,unplug from grid, so it’s less than 100% and then if Solar is down battery goes too low and if I’m not home ? You advertised the units as UPS and ok to charge, plug to the grid and Solar will be prioritized, this is the idea, so the battery is charged if not enough Solar, but now I have to be watching because if it’s too low or no Solar then battery is drained and no grid as backup. Everyone wants a simple, easy to work unit. There’s no way you didn’t see this in testing the units. Another solution from your team was to buy a B300 battery, so I have enough power to get me to the morning, that’s another $1,500 . So I have to sit here, watching it, plug in, unplug daily , nobody will buy this under these conditions. And on top of that the system doesn’t absorb not even half the energy, the most is 500W . I realized all of this was happening because the LCD has been on all the time and been watching because of the holidays.
And most importantly, why the Apex300 doesn’t stop charging from the grid in this situation instead of stopping Solar ?! This just doesn’t make sense

Hi @JJDD, thank you for the update. I believe this may be a misunderstanding.
Under normal operation, the Apex 300 will charge continuously until it reaches 100% battery capacity, at which point charging will stop automatically to prevent overcharging, and the unit will then begin discharging. Once the battery level drops to 99%, charging will resume automatically. This cycle requires no manual cable unplugging or reconnection.

In your case, does the Apex 300 fail to restart charging automatically after reaching a full charge, and instead require a manual cable unplug/replug to initiate charging again? We have rolled out a batch update (ARM v2204.10) to address this specific issue.
Could you please update to this version and perform further testing?
We look forward to your feedback.

This is not the case, my unit keeps charging while at 100%, but it has to charge because a tv, router are connected, drawing power continuously. The problem is : 1. Solar stops charging every so often, and you’d told me it was to protect the battery, yet grid never stops charging, so there’s an issue with Solar charging. 2. Only about 500W max from 4 new 415W panels had been absorbed at any point, which tells me there’s a problem , and is the same from a prior Apex300 as well. I never expected to get the total of the panels ability, and I’m in Miami, the Sun is quite strong.
I believe these units don’t draw all the power you say they do, or advertise that “pay for itself”. Plus, you also say we may connect both and the unit will prioritize Solar. Is there ANYONE out there experiencing almost a full charge from their panels ?
