Reached out yesterday to Bluetti Australia, who have always been very responsive, so regarding this issue hope they don’t let me down.
In short, I own many Bluetti units from the older AC200Max’s to AC180’s and just the one AC70, plus many B230’s and B80’s, always happy with their products until yesterday.
Entered the house to find it filling with smoke which was emanating from the AC70.
This unit was off grid and had no PV input, had a constant load of around 80-90W, undertaking the 6 monthly recommended calibration process, it was reading 1%.
This unit has just passed its first year of ownership, by one day.
I have completed this process many times with no issues on all the units and batteries.
Just wanted to see if anybody else has experienced similar with the AC70 or any other Bluetti product.
I have been in the electronic industry for most of my life and completely understand how componentry can still fail at will, due to manufacturing issues of the individual componentry, not necessarily the end assembly process.
All my units except for the AC200Max’s are used in constant UPS mode, so this is where my concern has crept in since experiencing this issue yesterday.
Anyway, will wait for Bluetti Australia or @BLUETTI_CARE to advise how to return this unit and arrange a replacement as I definitely don’t want this one back.
Hoping nobody else has experienced this issue or will experience it.
