AC500 Pump Power Surge

I have a septic pump that with other items running exceeds the AC500 5000 WATT power limit. When other items are started when pump is running all runs normally. The septic pump apparently is drawing too much power on startup causing the issue. What can I do to correct the issue?

Unfortunately, if the pump exceeds the AC500’s load capacity, there are no other feasible solutions available.

My question is, can the startup spike in power surge be prevented? Once running the pump wattage drops to a fraction of the surge.

Bluetti won’t be able to help you with this problem. Try searching the internet for start-up and inrush current limiters.

What you should look for is a “soft start” device compatible with the voltage and current of your pump. I have an AC300, and I run my well pump, amongst other things, with it. The AC300 could start the pump fine (120 volts, 1,100 watts running, but can hit 3,000 watts on start-up). When there were lights running and the pump started the lights would dim very briefly. So, I purchased the soft-start device below:

That works wonderfully with my well pump and improved the power fluctuation with the pump starting. You should be able to find something similar that works with the current ratings of your pump.

Thanks. I will look in to it.
