AC500 not pulling in enough power to charge

Hello. I have a new AC500 installation with 2 batteries connected in parallel.

I noticed from the app that the AC500 is pulling in 135W from the wall, but supplying 157W. The net result is the battery is slowly discharging. It’s at 9% now. The second battery is at 90%, but if I look at the battery information page, Pack 1 shows SOC is 90%, status is “Standby”, and in Parallel has a grayed out icon that looks like a 0 on it’s side with a line through it. Pack 2 SOC is 9%, status is “Standby”, and the In Parallel icon is blue linked rings.

My other AC500s always show both batteries with the blue linked rings icon, and both of the others are pulling in more energy than they’re putting out. Additionally, the other AC500s’ Advanced Settings, Max Charging Current of Grid shows “1 A”. The third one (described above) shows “15 A.”

The only difference I know of is that I updated the version of the BMS to V1022.09 (from .08).

Any ideas what I need to do in order to fix this?

You can calibrate the batteries, but that won’t help for long. The more batteries you use, the more the charge level display will deviate. It is only calculated and that is not very accurate. It is only meant to be an indication of the approximate charge level.
So don’t take it too seriously.

Hi @sjcmike, It seems that the charging power of this AC500 is a bit low. We’d like to know if you have enabled the silent mode, as it limits the charging power.

Please check if the Grid Max Input Current is set too low. You can increase it slightly, but ensure that your household appliances can handle the current you’ve set.

Additionally, high internal machine temperatures or low ambient temperatures can affect the charging power, so please try to maintain an optimal environmental temperature.

Thanks to @Akel for the insightful explanation.
