AC300 won't operate as a UPS - it cuts off AC output once the power is restored

I’m back to using my AC300 since we are having massive power outages again in Ukraine. I used to power all my house using it alternating between AC output and charging, so all went well. Now I connected my fridge via the unit while charging it at all times. And it fails. It charges to 90% while powering the fridge, continues to power the fridge when the grid is shut off, but turns off the AC output once power from the is restored. So much for the UPS function… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I have to manually restore AC output either via the display or the app. Neither is reliable or acceptable during the night. Is it a glitch? Don’t see any settings to rectify this.

I read several threads from 2022 where people complain about the same issue. Hasn’t it been dealt with since then? Thanks

Hello
I assume you’ve already set “ECO” to off ?

Yes I did. It’s powering my fridge constantly anyways

@Oleksiy

Before the power grid was restored, did the AC300 run out of battery and shut down, or was it still working?

@BLUETTI_CARE
The battery has never been lower than 50% SOC, it was still working.

Today I managed to replicate one shut off scenario. Yesterday in the evening, I disconnected the unit from the wall outlet lest it shuts off AC output to the fridge during the night when the power is restored.

So in the morning I found the SOC to be at 60%, decided to top it up before the next outage. The charging started, momentarily reaching 1500W or something (I had 7A max power input from the grid in the settings - so quite close to this level), and then it threw out a “high voltage” alarm, then cleared it, then turned off AC output, and then shut down the system - first the AC300 unit, and then the battery. Maybe, to protect the battery, I don’t know.

There was no voltage surge in reality - I just connected the unit to the wall. All other power consuming devices and electronics operated as usual. I also have voltage stabilizers at home, and the grid supplies lower voltage than usual, rarely exceeding 220V.

I then turned on the unit again, restored AC output, and the charging started at 530-560W (although set to 7A or 1540W).

Now at time of my writing there is no power from the grid again, so I will set the max grid input power at 2A to check whether my AC300 gets startled by 440W and shuts off again after I connected it to the wall. Should it survive this, I’ll gradually increase the input to 7A so that it could charge the battery faster.

@Oleksiy Is there any update? Could you please provide me with the SN and the firmware version for checking?

@BLUETTI_CARE Hi, I have upgraded the firmware, thanks for pushing it to the unit. So far it’s been working as usual again, it won’t shutdown upon connecting to the grid for charging. The charging power is still limited at 530-560W though, I’ll provide more details on the other thread I created here.

@Oleksiy Thanks for your update.
