AC300 turns off after ~5 seconds after firmware update

I was having a problem with power light flashing on my B300. Everything else was working fine but the light on the B300 just kept flashing. Support line told me to update my firmware, which I did. Now, after the updates, the AC300 turns itself off about 5 seconds after startup so my ticket was escalated to tech support…who pushed another update to my SN. Unfortunately, the AC300 won’t stay on long enough to perform the update. Any ideas on how to force the AC300 to stay on and/or update?

Hi @paulanthonyspeed, We would like to gather more information about the issue. Regarding the initial issue with the battery pack flashing, we would like to know the frequency of the B300 battery’s flashing after disconnecting. If you could provide a video, that would be even better.

Can you tell us which firmware you upgraded and then this problem happens? The DSP or ARM?
Additionally, could you log into the Bluetti app and check if all firmware is up to date?
Could you also provide the serial number and SN code of your AC300?

Hi there and thank you for your attention to this matter. The initial issue was simply a flashing green power button light on the B300. It started as soon as the unit was turned on for the first time. It flashed regularly and continuously without any breaks or patterns. Other than that, the B300 and AC300 were working fine and didn’t have any error codes.

I called the support line and asked them about the flashing light and they told me to perform a firmware update which I did. I did not take note of the original firmware versions but the App was showing me that updates were available for all the different firmware. I will include the current firmware versions (after the updates) below. After the updates the problems got worse. As soon as I finished the BMS update, the flashing pattern on the B300 changed and the AC300 now shuts off after 5-10 seconds of being turned on. The response from tech support was to push me another firmware update but I obviously can’t complete an update on the AC300 in the 10 seconds before it automatically shuts off.

I have a video (mp4) of the flashing lights but I can’t see how to attach it to this post. I only have the option of attaching still images but I can describe what’s happening with the lights on the B300.

  1. Light stays solid green for the first ~10 seconds while the AC300 powers up.
  2. B300 light flashes 4 times as soon as the AC300 powers down.
  3. B300 settles into a series of 8 flashes that repeats for as long as you let it.
  4. When you push the power button on the B300 to shut it off, the light flashes 12 or 13 times quickly and then everything shuts off.

According to the app, all firware is currently up to date…except I guess for the update tech is trying to push to me…that I can’t install because the previous update turned everything into an expensive paperweight. Here are the current versions:

SN:AC3002224000103051
IOT: 9014.12
ARM: 4032.11
DSP: 4031.30
BMS: 1021.07

I heard back from tech support again this morning and they are now asking for me to return the B300 so they can replace it. Unfortunately, I live somewhere where that would be incredibly difficult and expensive. I understand that my location is beyond their control but I would be out over $900 in shipping just on the B300 if I were to pay for another round trip. Kind of hard to stomach that price tag when it was their directions and a faulty product that put me in this situation. I’m really hoping that there is a way to force the AC300 to stay on long enough to perform the latest round of updates.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Follow up question: Does anyone know if connecting a second (functioning) B300 would allow me to perform the firmware update on the first B300?

If you cannot post the video as attachment to the forum you may still be able to upload the video to a video sharing platform such as youtube or rumble or upload it to a homepage webspace and link it here.

It would be nice if you could get an on-site repair because $900 is a ton of money for shipping.

Good idea Fox. Here is a link to the video so you can see what’s happening:

@paulanthonyspeed probably a longshot, but what happens if you turn on an output on the AC300 and plug something in - does it still shut down after a few seconds?

Yes, I’ve tried it in a couple of different configurations including with a load attached. It powers up for a few seconds and then shuts off again when the AC300 turns off. I’ve also tried it with the AC input attached but it doesn’t change anything.

Hi @paulanthonyspeed, I have reported this issue to the R&D department, but they also don’t have a good solution and can only suggest that you contact customer service to return the machine for repair. I’m sorry that I couldn’t be of more help.
The US customer service email is service@bluettipower.com. I hope it does help.
