Ac300 PV charging issue

I’m having an issue with my AC300 paired with my B300. I have 300 watts of solar that will bring in around 140 watts. The bluetti recognizes the solar wattage and recognizes it as PV charging but my battery percentage never increases even when I have no current being drawn from AC or DC. Thanks for the help

I’m thinking the issue is that the amount of solar power is too small to do much charging. If the inverter is on there will be around 40 watts (or more?) power used by the system internally (inverter standby power, DC regulator power, wifi, bluetooth, display value tracking, BMS, communication with batteries, etc.). That does not leave much for actual charging, maybe less than 100 watts if you’re getting 140 watts from the panel. That would take 30 hours to charge from 0% to 100%, but you will lose battery level overnight when there is no solar. It would do better if the AC and DC outputs were all off, but still not really useful.

That’s a good point thank you. Unfortunately on my van conversion I can’t fit any more than 300 watts of solar on the roof. If I could turn AC current off it would be a big help from power draw but my unit has an issue where if I turn AC off the whole system will shut down unless I’m connected to AC charging

With mine I always have the AC on and in use, and pretty much never use the DC outputs, but it will do that to you even with ECO mode turned off and the DC outputs on? I checked the manual but it doesn’t indicate.

Yes it does that whether eco mode is on or off. I’ve tried messing around with some settings and I’ve tried resetting the settings back to factory a few times but no success. Also what solar setup do you have? And are your panels wired in series or parallel?

Both actually. I have two solar arrays. Each has six 250 watt panels with two sets of 3 wired in series, and then the two sets of 3 wired in parallel.

@AllenEtti Please try to do a full cycle of charge and discharge to correct the SOC.
When you do the full cycle of charge and discharge, please ignore the SOC. Please completely drain the battery until it automatically shuts down, and then charge it with AC until it is fully charged and automatically shuts down.

Okay I’ll give that a try and get back to you. Thanks for the help

I completely drained the battery until it shut itself down. I then recharged it with AC until fully charged (It would only read 90% as max charge when I recharged it). I unplugged the battery from AC and it immediately shut down. It still will only stay on without AC charging if I have the AC inverter turned on

@AllenEtti

Does that mean you can’t fully charge it (100%) via AC charging?

If without any charging, the AC300+B300 will shut off even if it has enough charge?

No since I let it drain to 0% as you said it will only charge up to to 90% max via AC or PV.

Yes no matter how much charge the B300 has the AC300 will shut down if it is unplugged from AC charging and if the AC inverter is off

@AllenEtti Thanks for your information. Please check the reply on another post

Do I need to ship my AC300 + B300 to you?

Have you tried using the DC outputs on your b300? Try the USB-C PD charger with something that pulls some decent watts, or use the 12 volt socket. If you have a hardware problem, you probably only need to return one of the units, bluetti should know which is the likely culprit from experience. Good luck!

That’s a good point. Everything DC works fine

Great thank you. My order number is US61768

I have to send out my Bluetti this week if that’s what needs to be done
