AC200Max showing low soc after charging

Hello I have an AC 200 Max it seems to be acting a little strangely when I charge the device using mains then I turn it off then I turn it on later in the evening to use the device many times it will show me the state of charge as being very low such as 2%.

For example regardless of how many hours I charged it when I turn it back on sometimes it’ll show me the 2% and I know this is not accurate. I’ve tried to do a full charge to 100 percent At least once a week.

It doesn’t happen every time but it happens enough that I feel like it’s not acting normally. Because I have another one of these units and my other unit does not behave in this manner.

@BLUETTI_CARE Do you think a firmware or arm update could be beneficial in this situation? I’ve also noticed it happening in the other direction for example while charging I’ll reach 60% or 70%, and then suddenly it jumps up to 100%.

It seems kind of odd when I charge it for several hours off the mains and it’s showing me for example 65 or 75%, then when I turn the device back on it’s showing me only 2%, something is not adding up thank you

I’ll give some information about the most recent occurrence that happened. Last night I was using the device and it suddenly dropped to zero. I was a little surprised because what I had plugged in was only using about 150 to 200 W and the Machine dropped to zero after only a few hours. I was expecting it to give me at least a few more hours before it got low. I don’t like to keep the machine at zero so I charged it up to 25% and then I turned it off.

When I turn the machine on again later in the daytime it was showing me 0% state of charge. I knew this was not true. I plugged it into the mains for charging and after only approximately an hour and a half it went to 100% state of charge.

This doesn’t make sense to me because when I’m charging from the mains I get approximately 20 charge per hour. So one and a half hours would have brought it up by only 30%. I don’t see how it could have possibly reached 100% that quickly.

I appreciate any advice about how to proceed. If you think the bios or arm update would help I’d like to try. Otherwise if you advise I can send it in for repair replacement or control check, it’s still under warranty.

I like these products a lot. I purchased multiple ac200max units. I appreciate that you extended the warranties. I never regretted my purchases of your units. These devices have come in very useful during times of power interruptions. We have power interruptions in my neighborhood at least once a month. Scheduled maintenance interruptions can last several hours to a full day. Unexpected interruptions can last a few hours, or more or less. My longest unexpected Interruption lasted 12 hours and my shortest was a matter of minutes I used to have a lot of stress when this happened but thanks to your machines when we lose power my stress level is zero. Thank you.

Hi @Metallicat.420, Thank you for providing the detailed information—we’re happy to assist you!
We believe updating the BMS firmware will indeed help resolve the issue.
We’ve rolled out the batch push of BMS v1017.03, and you can upgrade directly. Please register and bind your device in the Bluetti app, connect via Bluetooth, and then proceed with the upgrade.

After that, please recalibrate the system.
Please follow the steps below to recalibrate it:

  1. Please discharge all the power (charge AC & DC appliances with the power station) until the SOC is 0%, turn off the machine, and leave it for 3 hours till it cools down.
  2. Please charge it again. Please do not load any device when charging it, and do not interrupt it while it is charging.

You can click this link for reference.

Please let us know if it does help.

Okay that’s great thank you I updated the BMS as directed.
I will follow the other steps and see how the device responds. I will give some news after I complete this process, thank you.

After tesring for a few days I can confidently say this update has solved my issue thank you very much!

I am wondering if I should update the firmware on this device, or update the bms and/or firmware on my other devices at this time.

I have the mindset that if things are functioning normally to leave them as is. There is a phrase it goes if it isnt broke, don’t fix it. But if you advise to update everything I will proceed to do so.

By the way for anyone reading this I suggest to always leave your bluetooth on. That way in case the screen ever becomes unresponsive you can still run an update through the application, which may solve a touchscreen problem.

Thanks again.
