ac200max + b300

Hello,

I have bought ac200max + b300 extension and I have a question that I didn’t found answer:
When I am using AC output from ac200max when b300 is plugged, SOC 1 (ac200max) is in “Charge” status while SOC 2 (b300) is in “Discharge” status, see this picture below:
Processing: DSC_0737.JPG…
So: ac200max is discharging from using of my AC output while it is recharging by b300 in same time? (So it is like if I charge my ac200max from solar panel or T500 while I am using AC output or ac200max for my computer, tv, internet etc), so it seems to broke the battery of ac200max no?..
I believed that b300, as expension battery, would be used only when battery of ac200max will be roughly at 0%, as a complementary storage of Kw/h.
In parallele, on the Bluetti app, the status of the SOC 1 is “Standby” while SOC 2 is “Discharge”, while I am using AC output with my computer etc…
So: is the expension battery which is used for AC output? Or the ac200max internal battery?
If someone can explain me please? Because I am confused now.

Also about b300: I am using the Bluetti app for connect ac200max (with account), but my b300 is not seen on the app when it is plugged to the ac200max station (only displays the SOC 2 status), and no status about BMS versions of my b300 from the Bluetti app (only BMS versions etc for the ac200max station, not for b300), while I can see another people who were able to see BMS version for their b300 from the Bluetti app.
If someone can explain me please? Because I am confused now.

Very thank you for all your help.

Best regards,
Mat.

Hi @Matomcat, Thank you for your attention to this issue. It seems you have a strong spirit of scientific inquiry.

When the AC200MAX is connected to the B300, the two are in a dynamic balance, discharging alternately at random based on voltage differences. Regardless of which one discharges first, they will eventually maintain relative balance.
Generally, their SOC (State of Charge) will not differ significantly.

If you find a large difference in battery levels, you need to upgrade the new firmware and recalibrate.

Regarding the firmware version of the B300, after connecting these units, you can click the SOC icon in the app to find the specific BMS version number. Hope this helps.

Hi Mat, I used the AC200MAX with the B300 for a while and I found it worked like Bluetti said above. It tried to match the voltage of the two batteries. For example if the voltage of the AC200MAX battery was 53V then it would discharge from the B300 until it was also about 53V. It didn’t always work perfectly because of the different sizes of the two batteries but it did always try to balance the battery percentages, and wouldn’t just use one exclusively. As the B300 is the larger battery it will be used more often than the AC200MAX internal battery to provide power.

The batteries will often show as in standby even when they are providing power I think there is a certain amount of power they can provide while still being identified as in standby mode something like a couple of hundred watts.

One thing I seem to remember is that I couldn’t update the B300 firmware from the AC200MAX, it needs an AC300 or AC500 for firmware upgrades of batteries. That might have however changed.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE , thank you very much for your replies.
I understand better, effectively after using and observations these 2 days, the battery with the highest percentage recharges the other battery. I have seen that when I am using AC and DC output for my devices, this is really the AC200MAX which is working, despite the fact that B300 is plugged.
Thanks for your help.

But about number of firmware BMS etc of my B300, I cannot see informations about it when I click on the percentae button of Bluetti app (see capture below) :

It is sure I can see this information through the app or through ac200max screen panel? (I didn’t find in my side).

Thank you for that.

Best regards,
Mat.

Hi @Sideeffect ,
Thank you very much for your replies.
Effectively it is possible that aC300 or AC500 only can display informations about versions of BMS and upgrading system for B300. In all cases, I cannot found a way for upgrading BMS firmware of my B300.
If you find a solution for that (even through Bluetti app or through screen panel of my AC200MAX), I am very interessed for.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Mat.

Hi @Matomcat, Thank you for the update. It is indeed a bit strange.
Could you please find the product information interface on the AC200MAX unit, then click “NEXT” to locate the BMS version of the B300? Hope this helps.

Thanks to @Sideeffect for the professional input!

Hi Mat, On the AC200MAX unit itself in DATA / PRODUCT INFO / NEXT it has two spaces for BMS1 and BMS2 this should be the expansion battery BMS versions.

The picture in your OP doesn’t show so I am not sure what that is. I can look later when I get home to see what my AC200MAX shows in the app.

I don’t think you can upgrade the B300 firmware from the AC200MAX but you probably don’t need to. They will from time to time go slightly out of balance due to the different size of the batteries even with latest firmware. This typically solves itself as you fully charge and discharge the unit during normal usage

This video tells you how to recalibrate, but I think your power station is working normally just not how you thought it was going to work.

Hi,
I am unable to send pictures here when I am editing post here… infinite loading then nothing, so obligated to close my post and abort download of my picture here.

Thank you for your help.
When I see informations of “procuct info”, I can see “BMS2” but with value “0.00” (while my AC200MAX is showing “1021.06”).
But if you are sure I don’t need to upgrade firmware of my B300, it is not a problem. Effectively it works very well within my AX200MAX.

Really thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Mat.

Hi @Sideeffect ,

Really thank you for your help and informations you share to me.
Effectively, I can see BMS2 infos but it displays value “0.00”.

If you are sure that I don’t need to upgrade BMS version of my B300, ok I will not do it.

I understood what you explain me about BMS system, all is ok for me now.

Very thank you for your time for help me.

Best regards to you.
Mat.

Hello @Matomcat

I plugged a B300K into my AC200MAX and it does show the BMS version under DATA / PRODUCT INFO / NEXT on the unit. See picture.

Are you sure the cable is connected correctly because usually it says 0.00 if the battery is not connected or if the lock is not engaged? So please check the cable connection and make sure you have engaged the cable lock switch at both ends and check again.
