AC200M no longer charges

I own an AC200Max that is about 5 years old. It has served me well until today. Using the app, I noticed my power was dropping to less than 30%, so I plugged the ‘brick’ into a house outlet, expecting to see the normal 486w going in. I saw nothing. Zero.

The ‘brick’ makes the normal fan noise when plugged in, and the green power light on it is illumiated. After a bit, I checked all the connections (all were tight), and changed plugs (even though I disconnected a lamp that was plugged in and working), and nothing changed. Until today, the unit has charged using the three solar panels, but as I write this, it is night, so I cannot check that.

For information, I use it 24 hours a day; it is never off, because I power a portable refrigerator with food in it. Also, I cannot do the standard BMS refresh process because the battery is not charging. And there is a BMS firmware upgrade available, but with less than 3% SOC, I am not going to install it yet.

I have sent an email to Support, but in the meantime, can anyone offer suggestions?

Hi @Michael2

try to charge it with Solar and see if its works, after that i would try the AC Adapter again.

If PV works, your AC Adapter just might broke down.

Thanks for the tip, Erik. I would have loved to try, but the sun has been significantly missing…and I am now out of town for a week! Perhaps Support’s process will work. I will see…
