AC200L UPS TOU issue

Just bought AC200L and decided to have it power my wifi router, Cable modem, etc. The total power of these items are 30W.

Programmed the UPS as TOU, wanting AC200L get charged during the daytime, 1pm-4pm, as I got solar and excess power goes to the grid is a waste …

The scheme seems to work, that is during the PEAK time, AC200L would power my 40ish watt load, and, druing the off peak time, 1-4pm, AC200L will be charged to full.

First thing I observed is that AC200L got drained to 20% in a little over 13hours. Not even a fullday. With full load of only 30ish Watt!.

Second thing I observed that during peak hour when Bluetti is powering the 30Watt load, it still draw about 40W from the grid. when the AC200L display showed no power from the grid.

The third thing I observed that the AC power with TOU on is about 10W more that the actual load.

When I turned the TOU off, disconnected Bluetti from grid, the AC draw matches that actual power load.

Either the UPS TOU does not work, or, I have a defective unit.

Theoretically, AC200L should power a 30W AC load for 50+ hours.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback! Regarding the issues you mentioned:

  1. During peak hours, when the Bluetti supplies a 30W load, it still draws about 40W from the grid, while the AC200L display shows no power from the grid. This phenomenon occurs due to hardware issues, sampling accuracy, and the limitations of grid current sampling methods. It is normal for the device and cannot be resolved.
  2. Regarding the AC power output being about 10W higher than the actual load after enabling TOU, the power calculation is voltage × current. You can click on the AC output icon to check if the grid voltage in UPS mode is higher, which would result in a higher calculated power. In off-grid mode, the machine’s output voltage is close to the rated voltage, so the power will be lower than in UPS mode.

I hope this information helps you better understand the device’s performance. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me!
