D40 to 12 volt fuse block, does it work ok? I’m upgrading the my campervan, and and planning on using the D40 to bring power to a fuse block for LED lights, roof fans, water pump and 12v cooler. AC200L to power the D40. Any thing in particular I should be aware of? Thank you kindly.
I have it working. Don’t like it, but it works. Only gives you 20a. What I’m trying to figure out now does it provide “Regulated” 12v? If the battery voltage varies as it draws down or charges, will the D40 output exactly 12v no matter what? I have electrics that I want to connect to the DC circuit powered by the D40. It has to be 12v all the time.
I read that the DD40 acts as a DC-DC convertor, and it regulates output to a stable 12V. It is all working fine so far.
I had mine set up this way and it worked fine, but i added a diesel heater that can require 30a at startup, so I added a LifePo4 battery between the d40 and fuse panel. The D40 charges the LifePo4, which in turn powers the dc components. It seems to be working fine, but the D40 limits charging of the LifePo4 to 300w, which creates a different bottleneck in the system. It’s good, not great.
