Ac200l + b230

I purchased an AC200L & B230 a little over a year ago and was working fine. I use this in my camper to power my oxygen concentrator overnight when we are not plugged into shore power. The AC200L is not enough to run my oxygen unit for 8 hours so the reason for the B230. I then charge the next day via generator for the next use. However, the last time I used it and went to charge it for the next use the B230 did not charge only the AC200L charged. I have also lost my bluetooth connection to the B230. I am guessing the battery is too low and the BMS shutdown since I cannot get a bluetooth connection. Any help to correct this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked that on the cable that connects the ac200l to the b230, on the connector on the ac200l side, the button is positioned on “lock”? (on my ac200max when the button is on “unlock” , the AC no longer sees the b230 and cannot recharge it.).

Yes, and I even switched the cable around since the ends are the same and nothing. I am guessing the BMS has shutdown because of low voltage since I can no longer access it through the app but I can the AC200L. When I look on my phone for bluetooth connections available, the AC200L shows but not the B230. I tried adding the battery manually to the app but says the device does not exist. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, by the way. I was not aware of that they had to be locked in until I read your problem about ac200max + b230. So before I posted anything I double check that. I plugged the B230 into my AC200L with the connecting cord between both but not lock. The AC200L showed charging at 22%, I then locked both ends of the cable and it went down to 11%. I then tried unlocking one end at a time and it proved that both have to be locked to work.

You did what was necessary for me, the problem is certainly more complex and requires a response from @BLUETTI_CARE.

PS indeed it must be on “lock” on both connectors for it to work. Furthermore, the B230 is not equipped with bluetooth, it is your AC200L which will recognize your B230 via the expansion cable and will communicate with your app to give you information about your b230.

If you have a friend who has a bluetti’s AC200, AC200max, you can borrow the T500 AC/DC adapter to try directly to recharge your B230 via its DC7909 input… but I’m not sure that this will solve your problem because it’s strange that your AC200L can’t recharge your B230 directly.

Thank you for that info. I did open a support also I looked a purchasing TC500 but see it has been discontinued. Looking at other options also to charge the B230 without the AC200L. Again thanks.

Do you have a D050S? If so, you could use that to either solar or car charge it to try to wake it up. Those two methods generally work better (low and slow) than using high output like the T500. I think you could also use the Bluetti Charger 1 in a similar fashion. Either would be useful to have in any case.

Hi @CamperLan, We want to help resolve this issue for you.
It appears that the B230 has run out of power and shut down. In this case, we recommend charging the B230 independently (separately from other units).

Thank you to @Snips1 and @SoulGen for their professional analysis—our forum is home to many experienced experts! As suggested, please disconnect the B230 from the AC200L first, then charge it alone. If you don’t have a T500 charger, you can use the D050S for DC charging instead.

If this method doesn’t work, you will need to contact customer service to arrange for warranty service. It seems you have already reached out to us—could you please share your service ticket number? This will allow us to monitor the progress of your service request and ensure it is handled smoothly.

Hi @Bluetti Care, Thank you for the reply. Currently I do not have an independent supply, but I am looking. My support ticket #328545.

Hi @SoulGen, Thank you for your suggestions. Currently the only way I can charge the B230 is via the AC200L. I have been researching other possibilities, and I am looking at the D050S as i do not have one.

Here’s a video I just found for you to watch. When he shows the T500 charger plugged into his AC200P, note that he does not have the B230 connected to the AC200P. Past that part, he gets into the D050S

Since I have the Bluetti Charger 1 and four B230s (and four of the D050S), I will ask @BLUETTI_CARE if I can test out the Charger 1 and a B230 using a 12V 100Ah Dr. Prepare battery as the source. I see no reason why it can’t be dialed in to the input requirements for the B230.

Hi @SoulGen , Thank you for that video. I had watched that before I started asking question and did find it interesting. Today I did some experimenting. When I bought my AC200L, Bluetti had not come out with their Charger 1 and I purchased a similar item that was made by Pecron. [PECRON 500W Car Charger DC1242-500 for Cars, RVs, Trucks, etc.] PECRON 500W Car Charger DC1242-500 for Cars, RVs, Trucks, etc. I did not have the proper connection to try it when I was asking the questions, but today I went to Harbor Freight and bought what I needed. When I connect it to the AC200L it turns on and show charging the unit but connecting it to the B230’s 58.8V input and turning on the B230, nothing happens. The power light comes on but the 0 to100 % numbers do not light up or scan indicating charging. Now, I measured the output voltage of the Pecron unit, and it is 42 volts as indicated by my meter. When you look at the input (12-60v) and output (16-58.8v) voltage of the D050S I think my 42v should work. The output of the D050S appears to be determined by the input’s voltage. Not having a D050S to check I would guess if using the 12v car charger cable or 12v lead-acid battery cable, the output is going to be lower than 58.8 volts. So, at this point I think I have a warranty issue to deal with. Again, thank you for you input.

@BLUETTI_CARE I have forwarded to Bluetti Support via email a video showing my problem. I tried upload to this form but was to large. Hopefully you can use this link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/14SpUiwG21pEd8aE6PZH55krescN_4Oot/view?usp=drive_link

Hi @CamperLan, Thank you for providing the detailed information. We have checked our records and confirmed that our email support team has completed the troubleshooting process—they have verified that the B230 unit is faulty and have prepared for its repair.
Please follow the instructions outlined in our email to complete the return process.

Hi @SoulGen, Thank you for your attention to this matter. We confirm that your 12V battery can be adjusted to meet the input requirements of the B230.

Regarding Charger 1, please note that it is only suitable for car starter batteries—we do not recommend using it with any other types of batteries.

Additionally, even if you use a starter battery, if you connect Charger 1 directly to the 7909 port of the B230, charging will not work due to insufficient voltage. A D050S is required to resolve this voltage issue and enable normal charging.

I had the same problem as you. Luckily I own a EB70s and the charger for that worked perfectly to wake up my B230. Once I hit about 5% i reconnected it to the AC200l and it started working normally. You can never run the AC200l to 0% with the B230 connected or this will happen again.

They still sell that charger as an accessory, but it’s only 200 watts.

@Hamiltom Thanks for that info. My problem is when we camp without hookups I use my AC200L and the B230 to power my Oxygen Concentrator while I sleep and during that time it seem to deplete the B230 first and I usually only have about 20% remaining, according to the AC200L. I thought these units had shut down at a certain point to prevent this. I am guessing there is something else wrong as I worked with Bluetti and they have now created a warranty repair ticket.

In my experience it should only deplete the B230 separately if you are plugged into the 12V on the B230. Glad to hear Bluetti is going to help.
