AC200L and Notifications

Am I right… there is no way to send a notification to my phone when the UPS Mode kicks in? Or at least, how do I enable it? I can’t find it anywhere. Surely a unit being used as home backup should be able to notify you when it is actually doing the Home Backup part.

Hi @BigBrosMo

welcome to the bluetti community forum! Good to have you here.

At the moment, no notifications are supported by the bluetti app. But its already on their feature list to implement.

The only possibility for automation at the moment is a own HomeAssistant (or similar) Server with a unofficial plugin to connect your units to it.

greetings
Erik

Hi @BigBrosMo, We have been working diligently to enhance our mobile notification system.
Currently, we are focusing on notifying users about specific scenarios, including firmware upgrades and battery maintenance notification. At this stage, testing is limited to the AC2A model, but we plan to expand this feature to other app-compatible models in the future.

Additionally, we are implementing low battery push notifications, which are currently being tested on the EP series (Home Battery Backup) and the Elite 200 V2 models. We will also roll this out to other Wi-Fi connected app models later on.

We’re not entirely clear about the scenario you mentioned regarding “when the UPS Mode kicks in.” Are you asking if a mobile notification is needed when the UPS activates due to a power outage? Please provide more specific information so we can assess its feasibility and consider developing this new feature.

Thank you to @Selfmadestrom for the helpful response; it is greatly appreciated.

Hi thanks for your reply. Yes, exactly that about the UPS activation. If I have that enabled, and the UPS activates due to a power outage, I should receive a notification about it so I can make arrangements and monitor the unit to make sure, for example, I can turn on a generator or something if it looks like the battery is going to deplete. Most UPS systems have a way to inform the user when the main power is cut. Thanks!

Hi @BigBrosMo, Thank you for your detailed explanation; we have understood your needs.
Under normal circumstances, when a sudden power outage occurs, the Elite 200 V2 will quickly supply power to household appliances in UPS mode.
At this time, the Elite 200 V2 has stored a certain amount of power and does not need to immediately use the generator to produce electricity.
However, it will send a notification when the power level is at 20%, at which point you can start the generator.
Do you think you need to receive a notification immediately when the power is cut? We will forward your opinion to the app department.

Well since I have an AC200L I think you should focus on implementing notifications there first! Lol

But yes, just knowing the main power is cut is super helpful information. It’s basic information that all UPS have. If there is a UPS mode, then it should have those standard features. It lets me know for example if my main power supply is stable.

I have multiple AC200L units also. I’m using them as UPS backups for data closets at my home and office. Having a an immediate notification when grid power fails is VERY important - as it lets me check if there is an outage in the area or if it is just a momentary power lapse

To be fully useful, it would be very helpful that you could also send an alert when the grid power comes back on too.

The Bluetti units really do make better UPS units than the regular UPS units, owing to what I consider better battery tech that does not does every couple years. The LiFePo batteries are much more reliable. Only the alerts are lacking.

Waiting until the unit is almost discharged to alert us is not an ideal situation, as it leaves very little time to find out what is wrong. If the unit discharges, then that means that the grid outage was an extended one, which is the exact reason that we would like to be (ideally) notified immediately when the grid goes down.

I’d suggest that you could build notifications for a variety of different situations, including these, and have a “Notifications” page in your settings, and let users turn on and off the notifications they want from that list.

(It would probably upset me if you brought notifications to the Elite 200 but not the AC200L!)

So for the Elite 200V2 is this currently working? Is it the default or do I have to enable this notification?

FWIW, I agree that ‘immediate notification when grid power fails’ would also be very helpful.

Hi @ben446, Thank you for sharing your feedback.
The notification function requires notification authorization to be enabled. You can select the appropriate notification permissions according to your needs.
This will be very helpful.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE ,
I have the Premium 200V2 and on android 15 I receive notifications for battery full, which is pointless when using the unit as a standard UPS.

Is it possible to receive an android alert when the wall power is down, using a configurable battery power level?
(lower than 20% would definitely be too low, which is also used by Ecoflow)

Since the notification capability is already in place, there should be just a software package update…

Why are notifications not present on the AC200L yet? It lets me know it’s full… why not when the power is out? That’s what I care about. lol. It’s been months now… surely you can turn on this simple request or is the AC200L done from your support and product line perspective?

We’ve been waiting on a few software updates, for what should be simple enhancements for the earlier premium power stations but it seems @BLUETTI_CARE are done with them and have moved on to the newer units. It is really frustrating that some of these simple wins that would really boost customer satisfaction are not or taking so long to be delivered.

Hi @Mastic, @BigBrosMo, and @Teece, thank you for choosing the AC200L and Premium 200 V2.
Currently, neither of these two models supports power outage notifications. However, we have submitted your request to the R&D department for discussion, and we hope they can implement this function as soon as possible.
That said, both models allow setting low-battery alerts, which can be done through the app. We hope this helps.

Thank you for the response but this is our point. This is an easy thing to implement that youre apparently not interested in doing. That’s the only reason it’s “not supported”. You know when the grid power is off and when it’s restored. You can see it in the app. So just send a notification.

Firmware has not been upgraded in over a year that I can tell. Your “R&D team” is either too small to properly support the products you do have, or they are too busy continuously launching new products. Both sales AND service drive product loyalty.
