I have an ac200 with 1000 watts of solar panels hooked up to it in series. The max charge I am getting into the ac200 is only 400 watts (it’s over 100 degrees outside and in the high desert with no clouds) . I called a solar consultant who came over and checked my system. He said the panels are putting out over 800 watts, but the ac200 is throttling down to 400 watts on the input. Why? The max input should be 750 watts according to the specs.
Hi @briankj, We would like to gather more detailed information to analyze the issue. Could you please tell us the specific specifications and model of your solar panel? Are these panels connected in series or in parallel?
Additionally, it would be best to shoot a video of the solar charging process, upload it to a cloud drive, and share the link with us. This will allow us to check how you connected the solar panel, the angle at which you placed the solar panel, and test the actual input voltage and current.
Hi Briankj, you didn’t mention which AC200 you have, but if it’s something like the AC200L, you might double check the DC input type. From the app, it’s called “DC input source”. I’m not in front of the unit, but it’s something simliar on the device. If it’s anything other than PV, you will not get full solar. I believe this is because it assumes it’s a car cig plug where it must limit it to 8 amps instead of the 15 amps you get with solar.
