AC180P not waking automatically on solar input?

When camping I’ve been disconnecting all outputs from the AC180p, hoping to automatically recharge the unit from solar when the sun hits the panels in the morning (400w Renogy blanket, 8AWG cabling).

But…the unit does NOT wake on solar input…unless I unplug and plug back in the PV input lead…. Has anyone any suggestions on enabling auto wake on input please?..or does the AC180p have to be charging a device at the time the sun hits the panels?

(Early morning)Solar Input: 98W

Eco DC: off

Eco AC: off

Screen sleep: never

Charging mode: standard

Unit is fully up to date with firmware etc…see pics

Thankyou!

I have noticed this with my AC180 and slightly less solar than you. However, I also tried it with the Charger 1 into the same input port and set to 56V. The AC180 did wake up, without unplug/replug. (It’s supply was a 100Hh LFP, not the alternator)
This lead me to believe that early morning low voltage, gradually increasing is not recognised.

I was unable to test what I wanted to do next on my last trip, which was to reconnect my 2 panels (2 x 150W) to the AC180 in Series, doubling the voltage. As the Charger 1’s higher voltage worked, I figured this might help. One day I will, lol.

Thanks for reply…yep…my dc dc in car charger also wakes the unit. Makes sense that early morning solar might be insufficient to wake it automatically….Would love to know what level of solar input would wake the 180p…cos I’m not really game to test it when I’m outback!..cheers.

Best option I found, my 2 x 150W (12V) Hard Korr solar mats are better fed into the 180 in Series. This doubles the Voc and is still below the Max input voltage. But if early in the morning a single panel is only outputting 15V, which may be below the trigger point, 2 panels in Series are 30V which is above the trigger voltage. this is an example as I actually don’t know the trigger voltage of my power stations MPPT.
