AC180P low charging speed

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE,

I’m having an issue with my AC180P – it’s charging extremely slowly, only around 200–300W, while it used to go up to 1000–1400W without any problem.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Switched between Standard and Turbo charging modes.
  • Fully discharged the unit (almost to 0%) and charged it back to 100%.
  • Completely powered it off, waited about 5 minutes, and turned it back on.

None of these steps helped – it still charges very slowly. This problem didn’t exist before, so something definitely changed.

Serial number: AC180P2428000072290

Could you please check what might be causing this or suggest what else I can try?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @T4ddy, Thank you for contacting us. We don’t have firmware that can increase the AC charging power, and we believe this issue is unlikely to be software-related.
When the charging power is low, could you please let us know the battery level and whether the ambient temperature is suitable? These factors can affect the charging performance.

We understand that you’ve recalibrated the unit before. Please note that after fully discharging the unit, it’s important to power it off and let it sit for about 3 hours to allow the internal cells to cool down completely before recharging.

Please help us check each possible factor that could cause the low charging power, and we’ll continue to follow up on this issue.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE,

Regardless of the battery level (checked it with 10%, 50%, 90%), the charging speed fluctuates within the range of 180–220 W. The room temperature where the unit is located is around 20–22°C. The unit was discharged at a rate of about 100–80 W, so it shouldn’t have overheated during the process.

Before the next charging session, I’ll let it cool down even more, but I don’t think this will make a difference.

Hi @T4ddy, Thank you for your feedback. We would like to know if, in addition to AC charging, the DC charging power is also limited?
We have applied to push the new firmware, and we hope this will help improve the situation.
They will push the latest version of firmware to your unit in 24 hours.
Please upgrade the firmware tomorrow. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.
Please let us know if it works.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE,

I’ve installed the firmware update (it didn’t help) and did several tests to narrow down the cause of the slow charging issue.
It turns out that when all loads are disconnected—or when there’s only a very low load (below about 30W)—the unit charges at full power. However, as soon as I connect any higher load, the charging power drops to around 200W.

This issue didn’t exist last winter. The unit has been used occasionally since then, but not heavily. It hasn’t been moved or subjected to any mechanical impact, so physical damage is very unlikely.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a way to test DC charging at the moment.

Thanks for following up!
