I’ve only used my ac180 a few times. The last time, our power went out for about 7 hours, hooked my fridge up to up and it ran fine. Re charged it up to about 92%. I put it in my closet for a few months and my power went out again. Tried turning it on and battery was drained to 0%. After power was restored, I tried charging it and it would flash on for a few seconds, turn it self off and would not charge. Am I missing something here?
Hi @darthrcf, We want to confirm whether you had turned off the AC180 before leaving it unused for several months.
Please note that leaving the power station unused for an extended period without charging or discharging it can damage the battery life. Self-discharge could lead to over-discharge of the machine.
Here are some suggestions for storing the unit.
- Never store the battery empty, even for only a few days. LiFePO4 batteries might be unrecoverable if stored empty.
- Storage temperature: 0-40℃. Don’t store the battery in a humid environment. Keep it away from fire as well.
- The optimal state of charge for long-term storage is 50%.
- The battery will slowly self-discharge over time. The battery should be recharged every 3-6 months.
- Don’t store the battery on its side. Keep it up straight.
- Don’t stack things on top the unit. Don’t block the fans.
If you can no longer charge it via AC, we recommend using DC charging, including solar charging or a car charger. This should help revive the over-discharged battery.
Please let us know if it does help.
If not, please contact us for further service.
Hi @darthrcf, we still haven’t gotten your answer, can you let us know if any update?
I hope it does help.
Sorry, I had to have sudden emergency surgery and I haven’t been able to test.
Yesterday I hooked it to to DC in my truck for 30 minutes with the engine running and still nothing.
Today I have it outside on my covered back porch hooked up to one of the solar panels that came with my kit and see if that does anything.
Any other suggestions?
To confirm, I did turn it off. It was about 90% when I did turn it off. The storage temperature was kept inside my home at around 72 degrees Fahrenheit.
So I charged it all day via Solar. Still same thing, boots up for a second or 2, then turns off. I’m beginning to think this unit is defective. Any ideas?
Hi @BLUETTI_CARE,
How should I proceed with this, call customer service about a replacement?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Hi @darthrcf, I agree with your perspective.
Since it can’t charge regardless, it seems you will need to contact customer service to arrange for a repair. We recommend reaching out to the customer support team for assistance; the email for U.S. customer service is service@bluettipower.com.
