I was having the same issues I see here on the discussion board. From 66% trying to charge to 100, no matter what setting, turbo, standard or silent, it would charge at 280 watts with a surge every few minutes. Emailed Bluetti and was told to discharge to 0 and recharge. That worked, charged at 1,100 watts. Discharged it back to 61% and put up for a few days. I pulled it back out to charge to 100, a storm was coming through our area, same charging problem. So I just recharged to 100 at put back up. Here’s the kicker, my EB3A was having the same charging problem. Will charge at whatever setting from 0 just fine, if at 60 or so %, charges like it’s on silent mode. This only started after an update to app a few weeks ago, never had this before. Not sure if there is any correlation or not.
I too am having this problem. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to charge any higher than 296 no matter what charging from grid method I choose…
I also have a new EB3A that is not connected to the app and it charges just fine, I can choose any charge setting. The AC70 I purchased for a family member is not connected either and I charged it just fine as well. I saw under the Play Store when upgrading app a few weeks ago, it said something about being able to set the charge up to setting, ie. stopping it at 80% , but I never saw this in the app yet. Maybe it was in the update and is having an effect on the charging speed?
Why do my AC180 and my EB3A that are binded to the app have the same exact charging issue, but my AC70 and my new EB3A that are not binded to the app do not have this charging problem? The AC180 and my 1st EB3A did not have any issues with charging before that update, now they do. If it’s not the app then what is it?
@cupcaketennessee I’m sorry I don’t know the exact reason. Sometimes the charging power is also affected by the temperature.
This is still an issue for me as I cannot get the ac180 to charge at anything faster than the 250-280 watts…
I still see many posts regarding this and am wondering what some of you have done to rectify this issue…
Discharge the unit to 0 and charge to full at least 2 times, leaving the unit to sit and cool down 2 hours at least in between charges at 0%. It does something to the system, maybe a reset, that should fix the issue.
I also, am having the same problem with my AC 180. Did the double reset ( discharging to 0 and recharging twice) solve your problem?
I’m also having this problem. I did a discharge to 0 then it charged normally for a few days. Now it is back to the same problem. We are on the road full time and so doing a full discharge to zero and recharge is very disruptive. Will do another one today and hopefully it will fix it, but otherwise this is very annoying and certainly reduces my confidence in the product.
That sucks! I had my brand new EB3A brick on me in Denver on a road trip to Az. Got to spend four days in Denver waiting for a friggin replacement! ugh, hopefully, this new AC180 I got this year doesn’t crap out too.
Just got mine today and it won’t turbo charge right out of the box…might return it and get an ecoflow
I would love to get feedback on this from all you Bluetti180 owners. I’ve had mine for about a year, and for the most part I love it. BUT. I had a period of time that it wouldn’t charge regularly or fully (the amount of wattage it was taking in was very low). I was about to try and send it in on warranty, then all of a sudden it just worked perfectly again. I tried all the firmware updates and all that, but it seriously just started working perfectly on its own after I gave up. Anyone else?
Hi @Alter_of_Ash
welcome to the bluetti community forum.
Most of the issues are in some way software related. Just very few issue are actual hardware related. If enough people report an issue, it get fixed for everyone. If its just for a small numbers, update gets rolled out individually.
So that all your issues are gone after a few firmware updates, is like the goal everyone wnat to reach!
I orderd my AC180 last month, hope to receive it soon
greetings
Erik
Just received my second AC 180. I returned the first one as it would not turbo charge unless taken to 0% The way I use it. I need to be able to fast charge it when I have the opportunity not take time to drain it to 0% first. Sometimes it would only charge at three or 400 W and other times 600 W no matter whether was turbo or normal.
I was hopeful for the new unit, but right out of the box. It was at 54% state of charge and I set the app to Turbo charge plugged it in and it initially went up to around 1100 W then dropped to 8 to 900 then to 700 and bounced around up to 1100 again occasionally. The fan is running on slow ramp briefly, and then slows down again
I suppose this can be a software issue, but there obviously is a problem with Bluetti’s quality control. Although the tech-support is responsive, the information is not helpful. At one point, I was being told that it may be too hot for fast charging when it was only charging it around 500W But later I was told that needed to be 25°C to fast charge, which makes no sense. The current unit is sitting in my home at 23°C. Extremely frustrating
I am going to fully charge it at whatever speed it works then fully discharge it and see if it charges then. If it does fast charge, then I will partially discharge it and see if it fast charges from a mid state of charge, which I’ve yet to have either units do.
