My AC180 had been working great. Kept my dometic fridge running fine for days. It has recently been shutting down the dc output. I first thought it was the 12v cigarette plug as it was loose but replaced that twice and when I hit the dc button fridge comes right back on so I know it’s not that. I know once the fridge reaches temp compressor goes off but it’s still drawing power so why is the dc output shutting off. Have tried with multiple fridges as well. Any suggestions.
Welcome to the forum @KyleK Have you checked to make sure your “eco” mode is turned off on the unit?? You can view this from within the app.
- Please check if the ARM firmware is the latest one.
- Please load other device to check if there is any problem. If the DC output port is used to carry some inductive loads such as refrigerators and air conditioners, pumps, it may report an error code and cut off the output. Because the instantaneous power of the inductive load is very high, several times the rated power, and the DC output port may not be able to carry it.
I had the same issue. Just got my 12 Volt Dometic 4101C. I connected it directly to the DC cigarette lighter plug in my AC 180 to determine how it would handle the fridge. Fired right up and started cooling. Went back the next morning and the power was completely off. Turned it back on and it showed 82% battery life. Plugged it back in and the fridge kicked back on. I turned OFF the ECO mode and that took care of the issue. Thanks for posting that question and answer. Exactly what I needed.
