Hi - as the title suggests, I’m trying to find out what the internal wiring of the AC series unit is, in regards to the positive or negative grounding. I understand the large units are internally 48V so I would assume it’s positive grounded. I’m more curious about the smaller units like AC60, 70 and 180.
Thanks.
I read your message more times but I didn’t succeded to understand what you mean.
On DC grounding most the times is negative.
The unit is internally isolated after and before conversion by a transformer from the battery and MPPT bus to the AC/DC inverter secondary bus, so there’s nothing that can be called grounding.
If you are talking about the AC output there is no such positive or negative since that’s a sinusoidal voltage.
If you are talking about what can be potentially internally grounded (including the ground pole of the AC output) that depends on the situation: the unit internally has EMI filters and MOVs (the serves to clean the power) that can potentially ground part of the AC to filter out interferences or voltage spikes, but that’s what ground is about and that’s why is important to charge these devices from a wall plug that is correctly grounded.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
