AC Overload Issue on AC180 with Small Load and AC Input

Hello Bluetti Community,

I’m facing an issue with my AC180, and I’d greatly appreciate your advice or guidance. Here’s a detailed description of the problem:

  1. When using the AC output, even with a very small load (e.g., a phone charger), the station triggers an overload error after a few seconds of operation.
  2. When charging the station via the AC Input, it also transitions into overload.
  3. Charging via the DC/PV Input works perfectly fine.
  4. All DC output ports are functioning as expected without any issues.

This behavior seems isolated to the AC system. Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or are there specific steps I should take to troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Why use the AC phone charger? You are inverting the AC180 battery to provide 240VAC, then transforming it back to USB 5VDC. Very inefficient as from your pic the USB C cord can go directly to the AC180 USB-C port.

Does the AC180 overload with a higher AC load device i.e. fridge, microwave etc? If not then I would suggest there is either a fault in your AC phone charger or something in it the AC180 doesn’t like.

This was done to show that even with a small load, the station shows overload. Of course, I charge via USB ports. Also I tried different devices including laptop and frig.

Additional information. After the station was fully discharged to 0% using DC outputs, a new issue has appeared. When I attempt to charge it via AC input, the station now displays a SHORT error.

Hi @Bogdan81, This does seem quite unusual.

We’d like to know if you have already connected to the Bluetti app. Please click the “!” icon in the top right corner to check for specific error codes.

Could you also provide us with the AC180’s SN code and the current firmware version?
After disconnecting all connections and restarting the unit, does the issue reoccur?

Additionally, we noticed that this AC180 is out of charge. Please charge it first and then test again.

Thank you for @Mandp’s kind help.

Thank you @BLUETTI_CARE for reply.

I can charge it only through DC input, because there is also an overload error through AC input.

Error code E007

Hi @Bogdan81, We have a new DSP firmware update available that improves the AC180’s charging performance under unstable grid voltage, allowing it to better adapt to AC charging.

Our IT department will push the latest version of firmware to your unit in 24 hours.
Please upgrade the DSP tomorrow. Please do not load any device when upgrading it.
Please let us know if it does help.

Hi @BLUETTI_CARE. I updated the firmware to the latest version, but it did not resolve the issues. The overload error persists during charging via AC Input and with the AC output after a few seconds, even under a small load.

It appears that the problem is related to the hardware of the station, as software updates have had no effect.

@BLUETTI_CARE Unfortunately, there is no official service center for Bluetti in my country, so I had to take the station to a technician for diagnostics.

After a detailed inspection, the technician identified that the MOSFETs OST25N65PM were broken.

Unfortunately, these components are not available in my country.

Could you please advise if there are any compatible replacements for these MOSFETs? Alternatively, can you connect me with an engineer for further assistance in resolving this issue?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @Bogdan81, Could you let us know your approximate location? We can check if there is an authorized dealer nearby who can repair your device.

We have identified that this particular part is indeed damaged, but we cannot confirm that other components are functioning properly. Therefore, simply sending a replacement part might not fully resolve the issue. A thorough inspection and repair would be the best solution.

@BLUETTI_CARE I am in Ukraine and as far as I know we don’t have Bluetti service center.

Hi Bordan. If you need repairs, I can help you. These IGBTs can be replaced with an cross.

Hi @Bogdan81, We would like to know if you purchased this device from our official European online store. If so, please get in touch with customer service, and we will assist you in sending the machine to the distributor in Ukraine.

The European customer service email is sale-eu@bluettipower.com

Thank you, @sashok1985, for your assistance.

@BLUETTI_CARE Where can I order the entire board shown in the picture?

Hi @Bogdan81, At the moment, we do not support shipping parts to Ukraine.

If needed, please send us a private message, and we will provide you with the contact information of our distributor in Ukraine. You can try reaching out to them. They will arrange repairs for machines purchased from official stores with assistance from our customer service. However, I am not certain whether they sell spare parts.
