Another Bluetti Server Outage?

See prior outage thread here: Server Status: Not Connected - Bluetti Server Outage? - #37 by BLUETTI_CARE

Same symptoms as before, “Server connection failed”, and I’m showing my Apex 300 hasn’t updated it’s status for about 14 hours.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my APEX300 unit.

My firmware versions are: IoT v8026.14, ARM v2204.15, DSP v2174.17, BMS 1073.08. For the past two days, the device has been unable to connect to the Bluetti server.

It connects to my Wi-Fi router and communicates via Bluetooth, but it is not accessible through the cloud, and I cannot see any statistics about its operation.

I have restarted the device, reset the Wi-Fi connection, and changed the DNS servers on my router to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. Because of this, I believe the issue is not on my side.

Interestingly, my Bluetti Premium 100 power station is working normally, so it is likely communicating with a different server.

I have already contacted Bluetti Support, but unfortunately I have only received the automatic reply so far. They have not responded to my question for about a day and a half.

Thank you in advance for your help.

On further investigation, I discovered something unusual - although the Apex300 said it was connected to my WiFi network, my WiFi AP showed that it had dropped WiFi connection 2 days ago and was not actually connected.

I connected to the Apex300 via bluetooth, and reset the wifi network a couple of times and now it seems to be working.

So for me it seems to be a new issue - some sort of mode where the WiFi connection is lost, but the Bluetti doesn’t realize it? Strange.

More info - my problem seems to be that my Apex 300, which has been connecting solidly to WiFi for days on end, suddenly is having trouble maintaining a WiFi connection.

here’s my router’s log of it doing multiple connections & disconnections:

I have made zero changes in my WiFi network lately, and all other devices in the household are operating normally, so this seems like it’s something specific to my Apex 300.

Still not sure what’s going on - at times, the Apex 300 connects to WiFi, but shows Server Status ‘Not Connected’.

This makes it seem like it’s a Bluetti server problem.

But it’s also dropping the WiFi connection frequently - I don’t know if there are 2 problems here or just one?

Further testing reveals this is likely a WiFi problem, not a bluetti server issue. I tested this by connecting the Apex 300 to a personal hotspot on my iPhone. (Note: you have to click the ‘Maximize Compatibility’ button on the iPhone to turn on 2.4GHz mode).

Once I did this, the Apex 300 connected to the hotspot WiFi, and to the Bluetti servers right away, and appeared to stay connected.

What I’m not clear about is: what changed. It seems possible that there is some new 2.4GHz interference in my neighborhood?

Not Lilly a new 2.4 in my remote location. These cloud failures are a real pain when you are not within Bluetooth range to fix things. For me, this latest outage corresponded with an APP update - again!

My WiFi Settings are showing connected, as is my router. All data sharing authorizations remain on. That tells me that it is a cloud issue.

What happens, if anything if you remotely “Reset WiFi” via the app. If you are nearby you can again turn it on via Bluetooth, but I am in NH - 1,000 miles away from the Florida Bluetti system.

I have had zero such issues with my Victron setup here in NH.

@JohnD333 in my case, I think the instigating factor was some sort of WiFi interference. Last night I was able to see the bluetti on WiFi and ping it, and was getting 30% to 80% packet loss. This morning the interference seems to be gone, and I’m getting 0% packet loss.

I think there is a second bug which is a fault in the Apex 300 - it seems that when the WiFi is poor, the Apex300 will eventually disconnect from the WiFi access point (AP) - the AP shows the device isn’t on WiFi.

However, if you connect to the Apex300 by Bluetooth, it believes it’s still associated to the AP. This is a problem, because even if the WiFi interference is gone, the Bluetti doesn’t realize it, and fails to try to reconnect.

In this case, doing the “Reset WiFi” process does seem to work, and once the bluetti reconnects, all is normal.

However, that requires one to be in bluetooth range, not 1000 miles away.

@BLUETTI_CARE are you aware of this bug where the Apex300 thinks it’s connected to WiFi, but is actually not associated? That seems like something you should be able to address with a firmware update.

App version 3.0.9 is about a month old. The cloud was restored after the last failure 21 days ago - that is when the Bluetti apology appeared on the forum. I Cannot remember the exact sequence of the cloud failure and me having to sign on to new app conditions but I think I accepted the new restrictions before the cloud failure. I am guessing that the cloud failure was a result of something in the app update.

I know that I have successfully seen all of the charge and discharge info and related information several days since the cloud fix. The cloud appears to be down for a bit more than 2 days now.

My app says wifi is good and cloud is connected. (It also says batteries are at 75%, so this and the wifi may simply be partial screens that are refreshed only upon true connection with the cloud.). My router says Bluetti is connected.

Last cloud failure App said no server connection, or server connection but no cloud info - again I think partial screen that needs to be refreshed upon true connection to the cloud.
