Thanks, Southside. The unit has a heater beside it; the area is kept at 50ºF. Next, the system is shut down completely and will not charge even though I have had it plugged into AC the entire time to keep it charged and to keep my battery tender (for the house batteries) plugged into the AC5000. And also thank you for reminding me about the battery connectors. I’ve had this for almost 2 years and had an AC300 for 2 years before that. I do check the connections but I do not move the system. It is installed in a compartment in my van (ambulance) and is quite a chore to move. I do leave the unit connected to AC as much as possible. At times, however, I have to use the cord to plug into the block heater (I have a diesel) for a few hours. While I travel, I rely on solar to keep the unit charged. I have not had this issue until now. I am so frustrated. I have reached out to Bluetti support and am waiting for word on a replacement unit. I have to leave for work again in 10 days and this system is my lifeline on the road and I’ll be on the road now for the next year.
I too have had temperature related problems with my ac500 bs300 combos. I don’t know why the literature says that it is good to -40 farenheit when it barely functions when the temperature gets below +40 farenheit. Additionally, last night I tried to run a 250 watt heat lamp off of a fully charged battery. It didn’t last through the night and the battery was completely drained in the morning. These systems don’t seem to be at all resilient, which makes me wonder why in the world they are selling them as emergency systems. If the power is out, how can I maintain temperature control? It makes no sense. What is the point of having an emergency battery that won’t do basic survival functions when the power is out? Can someone explain that to me?
I would as well. I am beyond frustrated and afraid now.
Hi @llewella, We apologize for not being alerted, which is why we missed your message. If needed, please tag us(@BLUETTI_CARE ) so we don’t miss any messages that require a response.
We would like to know how many B300S batteries are connected to your AC500, and whether any other battery models are mixed in. How are they connected? Could you provide more details so we can investigate further?
Additionally, could you let us know the current firmware version of your AC500?
There is just one B300S battery connected. Concerning firmware versions, I just updated the last time it charged. loT v9041.10, ARM v4044.07, DSP v4045.30, BMSv1022.09.
I’ve been in touch with Bluetti, and they/you want me to return the battery and wait for repair, instead of cross-shipping a replacement, which is quite upsetting as I am leaving and do not have time to wait for shipping both ways plus repair time and apparently the B300S is now discontinued so I am requesting a return and full refund of the entire system so that I can purchase a new system elsewhere. I can’t be without power any longer or risk this happening again. Ever. I paid $5K for this and it lasted a bit over a year and only about 10 months of actual use which was the same story as my previous AC300 + B300. I can’t impose on others to be plugged into someone’s house to ensure the B300S can heat in cold weather This is supposed to be an off-grid system to run my heat! It never got below the advertised -4ºF. It is in a van, insulated box, and has a thermal blanket around the box in cold temperatures. I’ve had a heater plugged in next to it for weeks now while plugged in at a friend’s. I need to leave for work and cannot leave without an operational power system!
