Energy Efficient Room Heater – Which One Actually Works?

hy Everyone
I has been worried about choosing an eco-friendly room heater for winter for the past few days. The old heater started to make weird noises and it didn’t warm properly, so I’m desperately looking for it. To be honest, I didn’t think I would get lost. I read reviews of major blogs like Wirecutter, New York Times product reviews and Lifewire for hours, checking random forums and Reddit threads. As a result of considering various opinions, many people repeatedly .

Honestly, I don’t want to promote something, I just want advice from the community. Both models have excellent heating capabilities and have energy savings, so this time it is an important point for me to make an environmentally friendly choice while reducing utility costs. Please tell us if you have experience using either of them or if you have a better proposal for an eco-friendly room heater. Both are rich in reviews and great features, so you need your advice. Thank you very much.

@NovaSoul , I have a few different heaters including a Lasko tower ocillating one, which the touch panel stopped working , and I have resorted to using low wattage infrared type, with and without fans, my largest is a quartz infrared (Intertech) has 2 settings 1500w and 750w,thermostatic controlled, also has 5 fan speeds,
My smallest wattage one (Sonbion), 2 switches and 2 elements, 250w each , you have one or both on, no thermostat,
I also have infrared 2ft X2ft panel (Amaze)at 400w, For me these have been a great alternative to the small PTC (ceramic) type heaters,

For a room 12x20 get the Dilonghi oil filled rad…starts out at 1500w and once up to temp can be turned down to 750-800w…the auto feature will drain your battery in one day by itself…turn on and off as needed.
For localized get one of those cheapo Amazon fan heaters (ceramic?) for $20…they run 500w but it is localized.
Just sayin…

All room heaters take 100% of the electricity and transform it into heat. The difference is how that heat is spread. The only way for a heater to be environmentally friendly is to keep the heat where it is needed, which is around you. The least efficient room heaters are the ones that heat the entire room equally; the only way to save energy is to keep the heat confined to the people near the heater. This means a radiant heater is more efficient than a ceramic heater with a fan, because you can sit in front of the radiant heater and feel the heat, rather than heating the whole room and feeling the air.

You want a heat pump rather than a resistance heater. Look for mini splits and portable heat pumps online or at places like Home Depot. They are far more efficient than space heaters.
