Apex 300 not detecting solar input

@TripG, when it happens again I will verify that, thank you

this morning using the app, there is voltage present from each panel
unplugged PV2,voltage in app goes away, left unplugged about 10 seconds
plugged back in PV2 can hear the relay click and now producing wattage
repeat same procedure for PV1 relay click and now producing wattage

And you said it is set to “PV” and not to the “others” position in the app correct? Is the sleep mode disabled in DC input source? What about System switch recovery? These are both under advanced settings. I have sleep mode disabled and recovery enabled. My unit makes power soon as sun starts hitting panels.

I verified all settings as you have yours set, appreciate your suggestions, maybe I’ll power down and back on, I’m also having connectivity issues via cloud from time to time, frustrating

(maybe Bluetti will weigh in on this)

I also have the same connectivity issues, which it seems on my unit to be an issue with the Bluetti servers being down or lost connection to it. It always seems like it happens in the morning and it is frustrating. I hope you get your PV input resolved and that you will post what you found when you do get it figured out.

I have 2 AC200L also and have never had an issue being able to connect to them, they are
located in the same room with the Apex300, that makes me think its an issue with the Apex300
I have also noticed on the Apex300 if I am connected and attempting to look at settings there can be a delay in the information populating, such as SOC on the Apex300 and the three aux batteries, or maybe
it never loads the information and I have to back out and make another attempt, in any case the results/information if they load are always delayed

There is! Bluetti is apparently aware of it because mine is doing it too, Claire says engineering is “working on a fix” that hopefully can be handled through the app. I already have one very faulty Apex sent back to TX for a replacement, no word yet on a new one that will work properly being shipped yet.

@twrenn22 Thank you for the info

You are not alone here. I am experiencing the same issue (see this thread)

I have Bluetti Apex300’s PV input connected to a 550 watt panel with Vmp around 40V and Imp around 13A. DC input set to PV high current and SOC is 70%-90%. Use mode is “self consumption target 70% SOC”. One is a panel by itself and another is 2 of those in parallel. It would be working perfectly fine pumping out wattage and all of a sudden one of the PV input would stop. It would pull 0 watt but still read near Voc voltage of around 46V. If I unplug and re-plug (or reset the DC breaker that I have installed in series) it would start going again. It happens every other day.

My firmware:
IoT v8026.12
ARM v2204.11
DSP v2174.11
BMS v1073.07

Bluetti says it might be related to recent firmware update and offer a roll back, but I am hesitant to take them up on that as I don’t know what else was fixed in the recent update. They said they are looking into it.

What firmware are you using?

@snowstorm I also did the recent “update” my Apex300 has the same firmware as you.
Mine has the same behavior, appreciate you taking the time to comment, helps to know Bluetti is working on a fix.

Ur welcome.
I had to unplug and re-plug the PV-1 cable this morning as expected. This one does it the worst. We’re going away for 4 hours soon…I hate to leave it be but that time period the array gets some shading in October anyway til sun comes around it about 2 PM. But itll be off when we get home! I sure hope they fix it soon.

What sort of Apex setup do you have? I’m a slightly paranoid prepper ha ha and went all out to double my input as well as storeage…only to end up with equipment all the way around that just wont work. Im so disappointed and pissed!

My AC300 worked flawlessly. I just couldn’t expand it anymore and this was my saving grace. Or so I thought.

Thanks

@twrenn22 I too share your sentiment about the Apex300, disappointing for sure.
I also am a bit ocd about prepping , my main purpose for the Bluetti systems I own
is power failure backup, but in between I use as a supplement to daily usage.
In addition to the Apex300 + 3 BK300 I also own 2- AC200L+ 4 B300.
I have 2 arrays of CIGS panels 600w series on one and 600w x 2 series/parallel that feed the
AC200L systems plug and play, circuits fed via manual transfer switch.
Wanting to get to know and use the Apex300 I have used it as a power source and then charge it off of one of the AC200L systems that is reliably charged from solar, I know not very efficient but it allows a couple of days of experimental use running a few things.

@sunrvr…Wow you have quite a setup also. IF I ever get mine up and running smoothly, I will have an Apex300 connected to my existing 4xB300 batteries that were connected to a nicely working AC300 I might add. So in all the campaign crowdfunding excitement I decided this would be great for me to expand not only my PV input capabilities but for storeage too. So I dove in, bought their Off-Grid Parallel kit AND added the Solar X as well as the Home Integration kit. Now, they accidentally sent me TWO Solar X’s and were good enough to negotiate a bit of a discount to keep the 2nd. Solar X, good thing I did, because it had faulty negative post for the PV so I had to install the 2nd. unit, which of course FAILED miserably and just couldn’t be “fixed” by upgrades via the app. Sigh. So Claire sent me a FedEx ship label for the Apex and the one Solar X, but didn’t provide an RMA, even tho I mentioned it to her in a subsequent email, she never did give me one, so I shipped it anyway. It went to Plano Texas. I think she’s in the Phillipines, as well as some guy that signs on as Tony.Deng, and now both of whom I haven’t heard from since over a week now. No one answers the 800 number at Plano either, and now THAT number won’t even “go through”. I’m pissed, believe me. Have you attempted any contact over the web to them about yours? If so, how has your success been for responses? Mine were, just up til last week when I sent them back, but also was the earthquake in the phillipines but from my research their office wasn’t in the damage zone, but don’t know where or again even IF they live there, and I just hope first of all that they’re OK.

There’s nothing worse than being left out in the dark about problems, and it’s especially worse when I’m making credit card payments on over $6K worth of worthless equipment! Thanks for letting me vent!

@twrenn22 I feel Bluetti will eventually respond to your situation, I too purchased through the
Indiegogo campaign, so I think that most likely could complicate the return process, I’m hoping firmware tweaking will resolve the issues for some of us.
For my use I have to consider that it is part hobby, and that I will probably not live long enough for it to pay for itself, however it is pretty cool to have backup power without the conventional generator noise.
The forum I think is an appropriate venue for venting! I feel your pain.

I have actually been in talking with Bluetti support about this same thing, it all happened with the most recent update, its not the end of the world but can be a pain sometimes.

seanathanq83 good to know

I have the exat same problem, after the firmware update.

My firmaware settings look like the same as yours.

BMS v1067,13
ARM v2204.11
DSP v2174.11
DC HUB v9084.08
BMS v1073.07

Still waiting for a solution from Bluetti ???

Bluetti support replied to me and said that this is a known issue with the most recent firmware release (which looks like is no longer being rolled out). They expect to release a fix in early Nov. They offered me a roll back if I send them my SN, but I didn’t really want to mess with that. I wish they would publish a change log of each release.

I installed the firmware provided by Bluetti to fix the problem. I have been using my Apex 300 with it for the past two days. Now I have both PV inputs pulling some watts, but one input is pulling much more than the other. Both PV inputs are now pulling minimal solar energy. I pulled a total 0.10 kwh today. I pulled 0.20 kWh yesterday.
I was pulling 0.40 kWh when I firstly reported the problem. Before the problem have even happened I was pulling normally 0.90 kWh to 1.0 kWh. The firmware only turned the problem even worse! Is there anything that I can do? Am I having a machine with a defect that can not be fixed? The machine worked well until I installed the second Bluetti provided firmware update!

Just wanted to update that I have not gone in and updated any software ( not sure if they have a way to push it without me installing it ) by over the past5 days my system is working how it should.
